Another cabinet well done! Chris again (for the 2nd time) created a beautiful piece for our home. It looks like it has been there for over a 100 years...of course with fresh paint. The craftsmanship is amazing and we especially love the walnut counter!

Chris was awesome to work with! He came out for a difficult project (extending a cabinet i to an area with an old chimney blocking the build) and surpassed expectations. Others either didn’t show up or did and said I don’t see how this would be possible. Chris not only achieved what we wanted but did it in a timely and professional way. So much so that we are looking to hiring him foe other projects. The cabinet looks like it has always been this way which is what I was hoping for and it built it sturdy so I could move the tv. Chris designed and installed three sets of built-in drawers in our primary bedroom. He listened to what we wanted and iterated on the design as necessary. When we realized the scope of the project had grown to include electrical and insulation work, he connected us with a great GC who we were really happy with. The craftsmanship of Chris’s cabinetry is top-notch. The custom built-ins are sturdy, polished and really fit the space. I feel like they have been a great investment and we are thrilled with Chris’s work.

We hired Chris to create a custom built-in bookcase, but we weren't quite sure how to design it. Chris spent the time with us, sharing his ideas to come up with a design we love. The end result is both beautiful and useful. We highly recommend him.

We hired Chris to do an interior stair renovation. As is typical, due to changes requested by my wife and I, the project grew much more complex than originally anticipated. Chis's craftsmanship and professionalism really showed as the project grew and we are extremely pleased with the end result. We were also impressed with Chris's work ethic, starting at 7:30 every morning and not finishing until after 5. We would definitely hire him again and would highly recommend him.

Chris did an outstanding job helping us repair a damaged kitchen. He had to match the existing cabinets in style and color and blend it all in seamlessly. Other cabinet makers we had look at the project threw up their hands and recommended replacing the whole kitchen, but Chris adapted to what was needed, even though it was more difficult that way. The results are perfect and Chris was a pleasure to work with.

The custom wood drawers were of the highest quality and craftsmanship. They were a great addition to a pantry closet!

We contracted with Broughton Woodworking on a few custom projects. BW installed custom wainscoting in a large family room, designed and installed a custom fireplace mantel and made custom barn doors. The craftsmanship, service and quality was excellent. We highly recommend BW for any custom woodworking projects. We are so pleased with the outcome!

Chris did a spectacular job on our hutch. It came out looking terrific, and is by far the nicest thing we own. He was professional, and cares very much about the quality of his work. He was communicative, showed up when he said he would, and was great during installation. The price was extremely fair. We would absolutely use him again.

Broughton Woodworks managed to repair a badly damage wainscotting in our 90 year old house we have been trying unsuccessfully to get repaired for some time. Chis managed to find a matching gumwood veneer and expertly replaced a damage section to a perfect match. Chris was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend his craftsmanship.

Broughton Woodworks is the best! We have a pretty small kitchen and we love cooking, so we have a lot of dishes and prep- and cookware to store. We also had a soffit that we knew would be pretty expensive to remove (so we wanted to work around it), and we had a very well-designed wood island that we were hoping to reuse. Chris saved us a pretty penny by allowing us to keep the island (he just replaced all of the door, drawer and island-side faces). He replaced all of our falling-apart MDF cabinets that were built into the walls with the most beautiful, sturdiest and best-crafted cabinets you have ever seen. Chris developed a beautiful way to blend in the soffit while raising the height of the cabinets on the wall without a soffit. And he pulled our kitchen all together with a simple but perfectly-made crown which succeeded in making our (world's wobbliest) ceiling look prefectly flat- which, I have learned, is the miracle of having a good carpenter. He also built us the most spacious, most beautiful corner drawers that the world has ever seen. He built in so many special features (two-tiered silverware drawer, drawer with knife slots, drawer with cutting board slots) that my small kitchen is now a million times better than the last two large kitchens I had. Broughton Woodworks' design doesn't even end with the outside of the cabinets- inside each cabinet, each of our shelves has a decorative edge that I didn't even know was available- Chris just built it in automatically- because every detail is considered with Broughton Woodworks. If you are looking to redo your kitchen or have cabinets or other carpentry built anywhere in your house, you should use Broughton Woodworks. Chris is the best. He has wonderful design ideas, he loves a challenge, he does the best work, and he's such a pleasure to work with. He's the nicest and most communicative guy. I cannot recommend him more.

Chris Broughton completed two projects for us. The first project was a complete replacement of a basement staircase, which turned out more beautiful than the second-floor staircase in the entryway of our home. For the second project, Chris custom-designed a ship's ladder to our attic with built-in drawers underneath (see photo). We are grateful for Chris's professionalism, craftsmanship and attention-to-detail and look forward to our third project with him.

We hired Broughton Woodworks to design, build, and install a mudroom cabinet. The cabinet was designed to include storage cubbies, lockers, drawers and a granite seat. Chris considered every last detail in the design - the locker door fronts perfectly matched the detail on our kitchen cabinets, the molding around the top of the unit coordinated flawlessly with our existing molding and the materials and finish on the piece were top quality. Chris shared several mock-ups with us prior to building and was meticulous when it came to measuring to ensure the right fit. He delivered the finish project on the date promised. The end result exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend him.

He built me two wall cabinets with a window seat in between. Absolutely, everything we discussed and designed. High quality, on time and within budget. His attention to detail is one of his strongest attributes. Chis is such a wonderful person to work with and I will!

I found Chris through HomeAdvisor when I was in the midst of buying a home. Chris was great at scheduling a quick visit to assess the work I needed done and getting me a fixed price estimate that allowed me to understand the additional costs as I was buying the house. Chris picked out a great crown molding and installed it in three bedrooms in just a day and did the work while my wife and I were at work taking great care of our home. I could not recommend Chris Broughton any higher. He was incredibly attentive and easy to work with. And even better the level of his craftsmanship and attention to detail were top notch. I would recommend him to anyone looking for custom interior carpentry work. He built us a wonderful bench seating structure and additional large cabinet/pantry in our kitchen which helped to transform what is a small kitchen into a much more functional and livable space. If looking for someone who knows what they are doing, is incredibly trustworthy, and completes work on time and within original budget then Chris is your guy.

Replaced an elaborate interior curved stair railing, and added detail such as wainscoting panels to a foyer. Original was falling apart and was replaced with a high quality and expertly crafted railing that is both sturdy/safe, but is also beautiful. The foyer itself was transformed from a boring and lifeless entry into an area that is grand, but fits well with the character of the house.

Chris is an excellent carpenter. He replaced all of our oak stair treads, repaired the stair foundation/framing and installed new ballisters and banister. He designed and build two custom pantries. Chris also designed and built doors for open shelving we had in our family room. The most recent project he completed for us was installing beautiful crown modeling. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is outstanding. He was always on time, professional and cleaned up before leaving each day.

My wife and I had Mr. Broughton build us a custom China cabinet in our dining room. He designed, built and installed the cabinet for us. We could not have been more pleased with the end result. Mr. Broughton was professional and completed the on time and at the agreed upon price. I would strongly recommend him for high quality projects.

Chris did an excellent job with redoing a staircase. New stringers were installed along with all new treads, risers, railings and trim pcs. Attention to detail and high quality workmanship.

We hired Chris to build custom cabinets for our mudroom after seeing the fantastic work he had done at our neighbor's house. Chris was the ultimate professional. We worked together on the design and he executed it to perfection. I cannot say enough about how incredible Chris was to work with. Chris worked on restoring the baseboards to a room that was being transformed to an office in our house. He did a superb job. Chris does great finish work at reasonable prices. Being a one-man operation, he handles all of the materials selection and craftsmanship himself. He did an excellent job on a custom fireplace mantle for us, as well as new stair railings.
