We recently completed a new house with Matarozzi Pelsinger and WOW are they impressive. The site was difficult to build on and the house was designed with many unique and technically challenging details that Mat/Pel handled with great aplomb. All of their paperwork and submittals were well organized and the site meetings were productive. Needless to say, their craftsmanship was top notch. From top to bottom they are technically knowledgable, good communicators as well as being fun and easy to work with. I hired Matarozzi Pelsinger for an extensive remodel of our penthouse condo. We renovated every room and built an internal staircase up to a newly created roof deck. It was a 10-month project. The firm was extremely professional throughout. They weren't the cheapest option, but they provided a level of management that ensured we didn't have overruns from either a cost or timeline perspective. With every weekly meeting I knew exactly where the project stood. We reviewed a spreadsheet with every item in comparison to its budget. I was always in charge of whether I wanted to add cost by adding a new feature, or not. They provided a full-time foreman who was always present on the job site, but whose sole job was to keep the project running smoothly, charm neighbors, and do whatever needed to be done. I had a great experience working with Matarozzi Pelsinger on a major remodeling job - an 8th floor penthouse in San Francisco. The entire team - the owners, project manager, foreman, builders, installers and painters, and everyone else - were 100% professional and a pleasure to work with. They kept problems to a minimum on a complex job, and dealt directly and gracefully with the inevitable challenges as they arose. As architects specializing in custom residential work, both new and renovations, we have completed a half dozen jobs with Matarozzi Pelsinger Builders. They are a pleasure to work with: excellent project management, very high quality construction, and highly enjoyable people to work with. They are also our landlords and did the build-out of our space in their LEED-Gold renovation of an historic brewery warehouse.
