Our large-scale project in Brunswick completed in Sept '23 included an in-ground pool, large pavilion with kitchen & fireplace, pool house, and a large patio. We began working with the design team in October of last year. The Exscape team made us feel part of the process right from the start. We set a budget and agreed on a detailed design plan where expectations were set early on. Special call out to Seth H. who from start to finish made the dream a reality. Even performing some functions outside his normal role to move the project over the finish line. We also must recognize Ian and Grace. Ian for being there to guide us through the process and Grace to deliver all the detailed work. There were some bumps along the way which there always are with a project this size. But we always felt Exscape treated us fairly, meeting and in many cases exceeding our expectations. We look forward to working together in the future. Thank you to the entire Exscape Team!!!

I had a great experience with Exscape. I had never done a landscaping project before and the we redid all of our outdoor landscaping and hardscaping (a new patio, entries, outdoor lighting, etc.). They were so helpful and responsive the entire way. They laid out all of my options so that I could choose what would work based on my ask and my budget. Their project management was really outstanding and they made sure I was 100% happy before the considered the job complete -- even coming over a few times in the evening to check out how the lighting hit the house and plants. I'm really very, very happy with their work and I wouldn't consider working with another partner if I were going to take on a similar project in the future.

We completed building a custom home 4 years ago and needed to add landscaping and backyard space where we can entertain in the warmer months of the year. We had contacted 3 different landscape design firms after reading reviews on Houzz and all seemed to be very professional when we sat down and talked about what we were looking for when designing our perfect backyard. We ended up choosing Exscape Designs because we feel they understood what we wanted the most and their ability's to provide us 3D modeling as part of the design package. Jason and Matt were the design team and they did a fantastic job coming up with multiple layouts after our first sit down meeting to discuss what we saw as the perfect backyard. They used their experience to help guide us in the right direction on certain material and layouts to help use our money efficiently. As you see on Exscape Designs website they do some pretty extensive projects. We could not afford to do a very expensive project right from the get go so they helped us plan a phased approach so we can budget every year to do add something. The 3D modeling has been a huge help visualizing something that is very hard to visualize on a paper layout. We have been very happy with their construction teams as well they have showed up on time and completed everything to our liking. Very pleasant to talk to and worked very hard and with quality. I highly recommend Exscape Designs.

My Son Paxton recently got a Backyard Oasis from Make-a-Wish. They used Exscape to do the landscaping and water feature for my son. It turned out more than we could have ever imagined. My son enjoys his oasis as do we. I was really impressed to see so many volunteers from their office coming out to help to do the final finishing touches on the landscaping. I had know idea Mr.Dysert was the owner. He was out here many times hands on and involved. I was really really impressed with that. Not many CEO/owner/Founders would do that. They seem to be very caring! I would recommend them to anyone! They were very timely as they could be with all the rain we recently had here in Ohio. They tried their best to get everything done timely. Their workers were very friendly. We are going to miss having them around! We will forever be grateful for their impactful decision to help create Paxtons Backyard Oasis! Thank you!!!!

Exscape provided a wonderful plan for our 5.5 acre new construction project. They installed all beds and plants (well-chosen for our tastes, climate, native fauna and not over-planted). The landscapers were professional, mannerly, efficient. They were responsive to questions and changes. I highly recommend Exscape!

We have built and or remodeled several homes and in the process we have worked with several dozen contractors. Exscape Designs has been the single best contractor experience we have ever had! In fact their more like family now. They did a great job of really listening and helping us clarify our vision. The communication throughout the process was proactive and frequent...we had constant progress updates...who does that? We had a few plants that didn't take well and they immediately addressed it. We love the our front yard and cannot wait to get started with Exscape on the back yard next year!

We recently utilized Exscape Designs to complete an 1100 sq ft. patio and retention wall project in our back yard and we are thrilled with our new outdoor space. This is the third project we have utilized Exscape for (last year we completed an updating of flower beds and landscape lighting for our home and in 2016 we utilized Excape to perform a creek restoration on our property). Exscape's designer worked with us to create a project that met our needs aesthetically but also in terms of budget, and their project management and craftsmen brought the project to life and exceeded our expectations. When it comes to landscapers, we have learned the hard way that you get what you pay for - if you want an amazing project that is done right and is backed by a company you can rely on to be there for you going forward, then this is the company you should be using.

We've been in our home for 30 years and wanted to do something special in our back yard. Working with Bruce Wiley of Exscape Designs and landscape architect Bob Zenz of The Nature Studio, they came up with a plan to incorporate existing blue stone into an incredible patio and pergola design. Using large blocks of re-claimed sandstone curb stone for steps, and large outcropping stones to work with new plantings, there is a feeling that even though it is new, it already feels like an integrated part of our home. The team worked hard in November with all its weather challenges to lay the stone and complete the project, but no short cuts were taken and now we can't wait until spring to use our new patio and pergola!

Bruce and the Exscape team were wonderful to deal with. Right from the start it was apparent we had chosen the right firm for our project. From straightforwardness to experience and vision they were deep and able to take on all aspects of our inquiries and desires. ALL of the staff were super pleasant and positive while in our yard. Their workmanship was clean and neat and most importantly the product they delivered exceeded our expectations and met the timeline discussed. Their communication all along the way was awesome and I can’t stress enough that they delivered the product on time and as discussed. They always did what they said they were going to do!!!!

Last summer we engaged Bill and his team to replace our 25-year old patio. On his first visit, Bill noted some of the architectural highlights of our home and helped us to visualize how those attributes could be drawn into the patio design. We shared our desire to keep a portion of the existing brick patio and the sandstone wall that surrounded it. We were determined to add more stone elements while reducing the maintenance we had experienced with our brick patio. The design Bill and Allen presented was perfect! It used the existing features, pulled from the architectural elements of our home and reduced maintenance. The production team saved many of our plants, moving and caring for them daily during 5 weeks of construction. The project included sealing our foundation wall and adding appropriate drainage. We also changed some landscaping not directly adjacent to the patio. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and hard working. We highly recommend Bill and his team.

Bill and his team did a wonderful job consulting with us on a tricky porch/patio project. They picked up where another team left off, and managed to turn an eyesore into something beautiful. The patio project comprised the installation of bluestone slabs surrounded by a sandstone border atop a raised brick foundation (it is attached to the side of our house). Not only does the patio look good, but Bill made sure proper drainage was installed so that we would not have issues down the road. The work was completed in a timely manner, and the skilled workmen were tidy and respectful. After a year, the patio still looks great and has received many compliments. I would not hesitate to use Bill again for our next outdoor project.

Exscape Designs pretty much redefines ideal customer service. My husband and I were amazed at how incredibly efficient and professional the Exscape team was throughout the entire design - build process. Starting from the design process, they listened to our needs and budget and created a plan that fit our concepts perfectly. They were able to incorporate all our "wants" into a seamless design that blended the existing patio off our 100 year old home with a grilling area and fire wall. I think the best compliment to them is that the patio now looks like it was always meant to be this way. Pretty amazing feat! We had a tight deadline that Exscape worked to meet, and did. We purchased a 50 year old home perched on a hillside with a ravine and stream. Our immediate concern was an old rickety deck that extended the length of the home. Exscape Design came up with a plan which we would never have imagined for our home. Working on difficult terrain, they built and installed a two tiered deck and screened patio which bring the outdoors in. We used permanent decking materials which add to the upfront expense but eliminate most ongoing maintenance. We love our new space and it was a pleasure working with Exscape. We received detailed project updates each Friday. The crews arrived promptly at 8 each morning. We hired Exscape to do a side yard project for next spring.

Employed to perform initial landscaping for new home plus some additional work this year including the installation of an underground drain line. Have also used for snow plowing and periodic lawn mowing. Nice people to work with. Company management has high integrity and has always responded to requests for follow up work and finishing touches.. Not inexpensive but pricing and estimates seem to be competitive.

Bill Dysert and his team installed a waterfall and pond at our residence in 2011. Bill suggested a design that was totally different than what we invisioned. Thankfully we went with Bill's design, the waterfall and pond look so natural it's like it has always been there. We cannot say enough about the professional manner in which the work was executed, the quality of the workmanship and the attention that was paid to the details make it an area that is very special to us. All of the people were polite, hardworking and a pleasure to have on our property. We highly recommend them for any project someone may be considering.

I have had two different projects completed by Exscape Designs. One was a fire pit installation and another was realigning and renovating collapsed barn stones along our driveway. Both projects were completed on time and everyone in the company was very helpful and considerate. They did a wonderful job executing both and made sure I was pleased with the final project. In the course of doing interviews with several of Exscape Designs recent clients for an upcoming article I was amazed at what I was hearing. People typically heap high praise on whomever they use for a remodeling, landscape or new home project in the initial "honeymoon" phase often to validate their choice. But that initial exuberance tends to wear off over a course of time as the homeowners begin living with the work. The Exscape customers I talked to were certainly the exception to that rule. All were repeat customers having additional work done based on previously created landscape plans designed for the work to be done in phases. They could have gone to anyone but they enthusiastically rehired this firm. All praised their previous experience with the firm. One couple remarked that despite knowing that "Exscape was far from being the least expensive" they felt using any other company for the subsequent phases would be obvious in the appearance of their project's outcome. Having seen these projects myself, I can attest that the company's design staff and craftsmen have excellent taste. It's also readily apparent they're insistent on high quality both in materials and workmanship. It's no wonder they are so busy.

We had an outdoor fireplace, pergola, and new patio put in by Exscape Designs. They helped with all of the design ideas and also provided an excellent landscape and lighting design for our backyard. They were by far the most professional landscape/design company we have worked with. The communication of expectations was excellent and all of the staff was very professional and polite. The job site was always clean and Bill and Mike were always very responsive to any questions we had. We would highly recommend Exscape Designs to anyone. Everyone who has been to our home has loved our new outdoor living area!

Removal of front concrete stoop and install blue stones bordered with curbstone. Grout was place between stones and the edges of the curbstone were chiseled with facets. The overall appearance is beautiful with the exception of the grout. Looks nice but it flows over onto the stone. It's not bad but definitely not perfect. However, all in all we are very pleased with the result.

Bill and his team discussed with us first, then provided a plan and executed it. Scope of work included updated landscaping for both the front of the house and the backyard/ deck area. They also kindly followed up on our request to install raised beds in the garden. The team came back a year later to check on their work and replaced any plants that did not fare well through the winter. The team is thorough and does very high-quality work. I would gladly recommend them.

Exscape design developed the landscaping for our new home and has been maintaining it as well. They listened carefully to our ideas and wishes. The result was totally in line with what we were looking for. We had a very dry summer immediately after everything was planted. Exscape Design made sure everything was taken care of during that time and at the end of the summer the garden was in great shape. Their personnel is very friendly. They frequently follow up to ensure we are satisfied with their work. If anything special comes up, they are responsive to our need. We have some ideas to further expand on the design and we will be looking for their support.

I have used the services of Exscape Designs now for almost 3 years. They handle all of the regular landscape maintenance, cleaning and also have done special design jobs; the most recent of which was a fabulous outdoor living area with a built in barbecue, cupola, fountain and stone hard scape with lighting. We were thrilled with the design and truly appreciated how they were able to address the drainage challenges in our yard. Awesome work - we couldn't be happier with our trex deck and screened patio. Meticulous attention to detail. High quality and professionalism reflected in design consultation, product recommendations, installation and final product. We can enjoy the outdoors without the nuisance of bugs. The design integrated this new space into the original house layout. The finished ceiling in the screened patio allows us to enjoy the space regardless of rain or sun.

I highly recommend Exscape Designs. The company designed and built a stone patio at my house and continues to maintain my outdoor flower beds. Regarding the patio build, Exscape Designs' workers showed up on time each morning, worked despite inclement weather, and completed the project within three weeks. The patio exceeded my expectations. Regarding yard maintenance, their crew came out to clean up my yard after a severe thunderstorm the day I called because they knew I was having a wedding for my daughter the following day. In a word -- Exscape Designs is exceptional.

Exscape Designs provides excellent landscaping services, with knowledgeable and friendly staff, excellent craftsmanship with hardscapes, and landscape architects to provide direction and recommendations when needed. If services that they do not provide are needed (eg. tree removal or gutter cleaning), they have always directed us to reputable and quality companies, sometimes even coordinating those efforts. Their goal is to exceed expectations, which I can honestly say they have. Bill Dysert (the owner) is eager to address any concerns that may arise, and this is done in a very timely manner. Communication is excellent, and I have only good things to say about this company.
