Powers Remodeling & Fine Floors

The moment we met Mike we knew he was the perfect fit for our kitchen remodel. He was honest, attentive and we enjoyed working with him and his contractors. All were completely professional. Our household is not the easiest to work around (2 toddlers and a dog) and they did an amazing job throughout. We’d highly recommend Mike and his team any team.

We hired Mike and his team to do updates to a newly purchased home built in the 80s. It had undergone previous renovation but we wanted to change a few more things, including: laundry room update, bathroom cabinetry, granite, painting, carpentry, hardware and lighting installation. The project was completed on-time and within the projected budget. There were a few minor items that we had issues with after the completion of the project and Mike sent someone to fix them to our satisfaction. Mike is flexible, honest and easy to work with. He also can help you with design ideas if you hit a creative road-block. The master carpenter and handy-man (Adam) he works with are also very professional and do great work.

We chose Powers to do our remodel based on a recommendation of a family member. We really enjoyed working with Mike West and his group of contractors. They did a terrific job. Mike did a good job of working to understand our requirements and provided good useful input for us based on his experience. He planned and coordinated the work with the contractors in a manner that kept the project moving and on schedule. Mike expects quality work and makes sure that any issues are resolved and dealt with as soon as possible. The contractors all performed their work well. We were especially impressed with the folks that did the tile work. They all worked together to provide us a wonderful remodel. We would recommend Powers to anyone with a major bathroom remodel.

Mike and his multiple crews (flooring, painting, cabinetry, electrical and tile) began work on a WHOLE house remodel after the Tax Day flooding. Mike and his guys had to work around my wife and I as we had to live in the home during the repairs. The House was floored with ceramic wood look tile. All the Kitchen Cabinetry had to be replaced, the re-layout proved to be a much appreciated change, the exact same foot print just “Fixed” LOL. The master bath rebuild all new cabinetry, replaced the old real marble in the walk in shower Floor to 12 ceiling, with a beautiful ceramic (100% ) easer to clean then old ugly Marble. The Shower pan was a huge undertaking hand built perfectly. Through all the delays with the flood INS payments and having to work around and moving stuff from room to room to complete work Mike and his teams were outstanding. This build was a little bit out of the normal work that Mike does; they proved up to the task and out did themselves. Even though last min, changes and unforeseen issues 4 months of work payed off, with a great job done.

Our house was flooded during the April tax day flooding here in Cypress. While flood repairs were necessary, we also wanted to take this time to do some much needed updating and remodeling to our home. Our project was massive as we did some type of work to every room of the house but one, and I couldn’t be happier with the end results. It’s like we have a new house, but it is still our home that we raised our three children in! Mike West with Powers Remodeling understood our vision (I think better than myself) after just two initial consultations and helped us to achieve it while keeping us well informed of our costs on an ongoing basis. He managed to complete the project ahead of schedule so that we could celebrate Christmas with our family in our newly remodeled, fabulous home! While our major renovations involved completely gutting the Kitchen and the Master Bath and replacing our carpeted stairs with wood and new wrought iron spindles, we also replaced the flooring in the entire house - wood, tile and carpet - (with the exception of our Master Bedroom), painted the majority of the house, and replaced the counter tops in the powder room and upstairs bathrooms. The communication with Mike and his crews throughout the entire project was excellent. Mike was able to help us make the most out of our project by advising us on which updates would generate a return in the future and which areas we could make minor updates that would be more cost effective and still make a statement. I can’t say enough about the crews that work for Powers Remodeling. While exceptionally professional they were also friendly, courteous and intent on providing an end product that they could be extremely proud of, which they did many times over. The tile in our Master Bathroom is gorgeous, the new cabinetry in our kitchen (which they built themselves) was exactly what I wanted, with a paint finish that is smooth and almost buttery to the touch! I couldn’t have asked for better! I can’t imagine having anyone but Mike to manage this project and it turn out as well as it did. Mike is very positive, personable and full of energy. He recommended many different sources for tile, granite and flooring, but was also open to utilization of items I found on my own. He accompanied me on several outings to locate just the right tile and granite that I was searching for, and also helped me to locate the wood flooring, which we had originally put in our master bedroom 5 years prior and I wanted the same flooring throughout the downstairs of the house! I never had any qualms about contacting Mike if I had questions and he was always good to get right back with me with answers. As stated above, this was a massive project and Mike managed/coordinated/communicated in a manner that enabled me to focus on my responsibilities so that by working together the entire project was completed without any major hiccups or delays! My biggest stressor of the entire project was settling on a refrigerator and Mike even went to the retailer and took his own measurements to make sure that there would be no issues once delivered. I would absolutely recommend Mike West with Powers Remodeling for your next home project. Big or small, he will work with you to provide you with an end product that you will be happy with and very proud of! He is currently working on a kitchen remodel at my next door neighbor’s and I can’t wait to see the results!

We hired Powers Remodeling to tackle our guest bathroom that was designed back in the 1970's and with our new design, it's ready for the 2020's! Mike brought excellent ideas, personality, creativity and patience while working with our own ideas to create something stylish but not too trendy. He also recommended some excellent local stores to shop for different cabinets, tile, and granite other than what's found at the big box stores. Our bathroom is truly impressive for a guest bathroom and has us already thinking about updating the kids bathroom. Most importantly, he has one of the best crews working for him that have done some of the best work I have ever seen. The attention to detail was very impressive and everything was done to our satisfaction. We truly look forward to working with him again in the future.

Mike West and Powers Remodeling did a fantastic job with our house, on a tight budget! We had 5 companies come out to bid our project and while some ideas were a little different for each company, the project size was relatively the same...except Powers provided the best project for the money we could spend. The end results are amazing and all of our family and friends fell in love with the changes to our home. So much, in fact, that many have actually become referral business for Powers Remodeling with projects of their own - I think 4 or 5 now! We tore everything out of the kitchen from floors to ceiling, replaced all tile, carpet and laminate throughout the entire home and my favorite part...opened up the enclosed staircase into BEAUTIFUL banister and wrought-iron spindles! It opened up the house so much and looks stunning! Our home went from a 14 year old "box-cutter" style home to a beautiful custom home in less than 5 weeks. Yes, all of this work was completed in under 5 weeks! If you're in the market for floors/remodeling, you have to contact Mike West, you'll be glad you did. We sure are!

We had our kitchen remodeled and it looks like something you see in a magazine. It came out amazing. Mike was very patient and understanding. He worked with us during last minute changes and provided suggestions which were helpful and money saving. He kept us informed during the process. There were a few minor setbacks during the process but overall the kitchen speaks for itself. I would most definitely use Powers Remodeling again and recommend him to family and friends.
