Stellar Renovations

Really enjoyed my remodeling experience. My complete bathroom remodel (including replacing partially dry-rotted subfloor, galvanized plumbing, fixtures and new tile) turned out better than expected. This is the hall/main bathroom in my small 1960 built ranch home. We replaced an old bathtub, that had no shower, with a new shower, which has beautiful tile surrounds that continues as wainscoting on the walls. A furniture-grade modernish vanity replaces a wall sink. Remodel in a 60-year-old house can be challenging, but they made me feel comfortable through each phase of the work. Ross, the company principal, helped perfect my mid-century modern design, advising me on tile and color choices, and the all-important tile layout. Everyone was committed to the project and did professional, beautiful work. I love the classic white subway tile look with black pen-striping, muted gray herringbone tile floor, and beautiful teak vanity cabinet. The first picture is before (tub, no shower). Both Ross and his assistant; Desiree were most helpful in not only sharing ideas but also recommending businesses for us to visit to view samples. Additionally, their work crew along with their sub-contractors were ultimate professionals.

We finished our kitchen renovation just before the pandemic hit and I am so grateful and relieved that we did. We absolutely love our kitchen and it has been immensely helpful during lockdowns and stockpiling supplies. Before our renovation, we had a closed-off kitchen with no storage, no counter space, no lighting, and broken appliances. I hated being in our old kitchen, and didn't want to cook healthy meals or even do dishes. Thanks to Stellar, we now have an open, efficient and beautiful kitchen that should be featured in one of these Houzz articles! The only challenge we experienced was with the electrical trade. Our house was built in 1948 and we were left with some quirks including occassionally flickering lights and a non-operational doorbell. The Stellar team was great to communicate with, hardworking, trustworthy and detail oriented (and we are picky). They worked with our budget and our unique design plan and helped us acheive our dream kitchen in 100 square feet. If there's a plus to my taking so long to write this review, it's that I can report that the workmanship has held up and looks just as beautiful as when it was first finished. It has been over a year since the project was completed and we are still in love. We have a few future projects in mind and we would not hesitate to reach out to Stellar again in the future.

They did great and were a pleasure to work with. Very professional timely and helpful on giving suggestions and their expertise. They never stopped working through the pandemic and did everything safely.

It took a while to find a contractor that was willing, and wanted, to do the renovations I dreamed of-adding a second story! I LOVED the entire project from start to finish with Stellar Renovations and their employees! Everyone that was a part of my project was professional, on time, respectful of my opinion, listened to my concerns, and worked with me to insure that the end result was exactly what I had envisioned. I could not be more impressed with their workmanship, attention to detail, working within my budget, assistance in helping me know where to shop for the items I needed to pick out, going the extra mile, and so much more. The project finished ahead of time and that was a bittersweet moment. Teaching from home and having my daughter doing school from home during the Fall of 2020 during the majority of the renovation added a layer of what I was expecting to be complications but it actually worked out well. I was able to answer questions as they came up on the project and my daughter loved watching every step of the renovation. We wanted to remodel our master bathroom, kitchen, and install new flooring throughout the house. The process of hiring a contractor can be intimidating and lead to a lot of frustration. Stellar Renovations is a small residential construction company. We contracted with them to construct a 460 square foot addition to our house. The Stellar team has a lot of experience. This became useful when they discovered that the original house had settled two inches in the front of the house. Stellar made the necessary adjustments make the addition look seamless. The Stellar team has excellent project management skills. They also hire top notch subcontractors.

Let's be honest, the home renovation process is a headache and extremely stressful. We knew when we began to research for a company to update our late 1980's interior to a more modern look, that it was going to be a process. I mean we were planning to renovate our entire house while living in it...enough said. The first step was finding someone. When we sat down with Ross and Steve to go over the estimate/bid, we were immediately impressed with not only their professionalism but their passion and knowledge for what they do. It didn't take long for us to say "You're Hired!" Everyone at Stellar was ideal to work with and made an experience that is never easy, much more enjoyable then deserved. We couldn't have asked for a better company and we absolutely love the finished result. If you are looking for an honest and reliable company, look no further. You have found them with Stellar.

Stellar was absolutely amazing to work with! From their communication to execution, we could not be happier. Each day everything was cleaned and we received communication on what would happen next. We added 400+ sq ft to our Victorian home and you truly cant tell where the old ends and the new begins. Ross and Steve and genuine, trustworthy and I’m sure we will work with them again in the future!

Last winter Stellar Renovations recreated and updated our Davis home, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with their hard work. Walls came down to make a large great room, kitchen and pantry. We really appreciated the clear communication about daily progress, the expert craftsmanship and cleanliness of the staff and how they met all deadlines. We’ve recommended them to numerous friends. They made the renovation process user friendly!

I had experience with Stellar Renovations when they renovated my kitchen for universal design for my wheelchair. I had no qualms with hiring them again. From the start, Stellar was very flexible with my life. I had to postpone the renovation of my bathroom due to health reasons and they sent flowers! Once we got started, the entire crew, including the subs were awesome. They work with high quality subs and their crew is top notch. Shannon was incredibly patient with me, meeting me all over the place for finishes. Ross & Steve are easy going and run an excellent business. Several of My neighbors mentioned that they were impressed that work was going on daily (with a few exceptions of course). The project was completed within the estimated period and within the budget. I’m very happy with my accessible bathroom!

We hired Steve and Ross and Stellar Renovations to complete an extensive addition and remodel of a home we bought in Sacramento. In addition to adding 725sf of additional space, it was important to us that they do so in a way that the original portions of the home and the addition portions of the home flowed seamlessly together. They accomplished this perfectly. The finished product resulted in us having gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the 2000sf space, new energy efficient dimmable LED lighting throughout, a new master suite with a walk-in closet, and a brand new, gorgeous kitchen that is the heart of our home. This was a tough job because the property was great in its original condition and had been meticulously maintained by the prior owner. To take something that was already high quality and take it to an even higher level while respecting the home's history is difficult. But Stellar Renovations did it and we couldn't be happier. This project was completed in December of 2017, so a little over a year and a half has passed before I wrote this review. I did this because I wanted to make absolutely sure that my positive feelings towards the work wasn't simply due to a "honeymoon period." I love our house even more now than I did when it was first completed. Stellar Renovations did a fantastic job.

We had Stellar do a major remodel on our guest bathroom. This included moving a wall and completely reconfiguring the sink, shower, and toilet. The result is a beautiful bathroom that all our friends have commented on. Several months later, we wanted our laundry room remodeled. That work included eliminating a closet in the adjacent room and some major repair on the laundry sub floor. We were so pleased with Stellar from the bathroom remodel that we didn't bother getting multiple quotes for that second project. We simply said for them to give us the cost estimate and put us on their calendar. That remodel came out really well also. Highly recommended.

With Stellar we had a work crew that was dependable and conscientious. During the demolition phase of our kitchen remodel, the crew protected the rest of the house as much as possible from the inevitable dust. Through the project they cleaned up each day as promised. The foreman on our job explained the day's progress and what to expect next. In particular, his workmanship and attention to detail were terrific. We have had nothing but compliments from family and friends on our new kitchen.

Our project went smoothly and it was completed for less than we had budgeted. Stellar provided daily project updates with photographs which were very helpful. Their crew were polite and easy to work with. Their billing was clear and change orders were easily accounted for. I highly recommend Stellar Construction.

5 Stars! Our experience working with Stellar Renovations has convinced me that anyone entering into a contract with this company is in very good hands. We are thrilled with how our bathroom remodel turned out and are happy to redirect the many accolades we receive on it to Stellar. (True story – A guest asked me recently if she could take a photo of my bathroom. She also asked who had done the work for us and when I answered she turned to her husband and said, “I thought so!”) Ross set the tone for the entire project as we worked out all the details at the beginning. We had an unusual situation that required some out of the box thinking and flexibility. Regardless of the express train pace we set, Ross would not compromise on quality. He made it clear to me that having it done right was essential. I so appreciated his insights, knowledge and suggestions, all delivered in a personable manner. As the work began it was apparent that the values of the leadership permeated the company. Each crew that came had their own personality but each shared a commitment to following the established guidelines. Punctual, skilled, hard-working, polite, efficient, careful. There was something different and better about them as a group. As with all remodeling projects ours had the inevitable unexpected difficulties and inconveniences arise, but everything was easily addressed with grace, good communication and cooperation. This is a construction company that cares about what they do, they do it well and they strive to fulfill all their commitments with excellence. In the planning stages of our kitchen they were patient accommodating and were very helpful in design, knows his products, the first order of the cabinets were correct and they all fit. They worked hard to help us stay within a budget. They were our 3rd estimate and we had no problem choosing them. Excellent work, showed up on time, kept us abreast of plans and times, cleaned up each day and were courteous. Small changes were taken care of and even went above what was first agreed upon. I highly recommend Stellar Renovations. Stellar even finished on time, came back and fixed small things that needed to be changed or touched up.

Stellar Renovation is well-named. From the planning stages to the project management and finishing details, you get quality service and personnel. Stellar renovated our 1985 kitchen and now they are remodeling our hall bath. They did an excellent job in the kitchen and the bath is coming along beautifully. The most outstanding quality of their project management is paying attention to detail so mistakes are not made and you are happy with the end result. To add to their good service and expertise, is their honesty and fairness in conducting business. They are very good. Highly recommend!

We contracted with Stellar to do an extensive bathroom remodel. They did a truly outstanding job. They showed up every day at the same time and stayed the entire day, unlike some contractors who take on too many jobs and show up sporadically. Their foreman was highly skilled and was so easy to work with, as were all of their workmen. They used a sub for the tile work and his crew did beautiful work. I can recommend Stellar without any reservations whatsoever.

When we decided to remodel our kitchen, we were looking for someone who would listen to what WE wanted and give us high-quality work at a fair price. After interviewing many contractors, we decided to use Stellar Renovation. Best decision ever! Stellar carefully listened to what we were looking to do. They completely understood that not every person has the same taste and never tried to push us into doing something just because it’s trendy. They made suggestions and gave valuable guidance on various aspects of the project, such as where to look for sinks, faucets, flooring, fixtures and even helped us get the best prices. Without exception, every person from their firm was professional, incredibly friendly and helpful. The workers we had in our house were absolutely delightful to have around. They treated our home with respect and went out of their way to cause as little disturbance as possible. Most important to us, the quality of their work was absolutely superb. They obviously take pride in their work and made sure every part of the job was finished not only to our satisfaction, but also theirs! There were things that we might not have even noticed that they changed until things were perfect. When we did point out things we wanted changed or moved slightly, they proceeded to make those adjustments to our total satisfaction. Their time estimates were very realistic, which we appreciated. Some contractors seem to promise anything just to get the job, but Stellar told us exactly how long each phase of the project would take. While there were some delays, it had nothing to do with Stellar, but rather getting chosen materials to arrive. The cost is certainly a primary concern when undertaking any major remodeling, and Stellar is definitely fair. They not only listened to our visionary goals for the project, but also carefully listened to our budget. They provided options and suggestions to help us obtain what we hoped to achieve without spending more than we were willing to spend. We really appreciated that we knew exactly what to expect going in, and we had no surprises along the way. This is absolutely the company to hire for any remodeling projects someone may need.

They did a complete gut for me of a kitchen 4 baths laundry and moved a wall. Great working with these guys. Good people.

Stellar Renovations just finished remodeling my master bath. They did an outstanding job. They cut no corners and the result is breathtaking. Stellar Renovations' service is the best combination of professionalism and personal service. It is obvious that owners Ross and Steve treat employees like family yet demand excellent performance from them. Ross gave me a comprehensive estimate with options and prices in a level of detail that helped me make my design decisions. Workers showed up on time and checked details with me throughout the job. They kept the worksite contained and cleaned up every evening before they left. The tile crew were true craftsmen. I couldn't have gotten better service anywhere.

I hire Stellar Renovations to do a total gut job of our Gold River Manor home's kitchen. They did a great job and we think it looks great. They were easy to work with and came up with many helpful suggestions. It is now a much more functional design kitchen with an island. Later on after the dust had settled we had them come back and redo our master bathroom and to make it handy cap excisable. They did a nice job on that too. Then it was time to redo the second bathroom. We had Stellar Renovations redo EVERYTHING in the second bathroom including the installation of a soaking tub. We also hired them to install Crown Molding through out the house and to redo the lighting with LED. We are very pleased with the work that Stellar did for us. This was all done over a 18 month period but it would have been nice to have it done all at once but we didn't have that option. We wouldn't have keep them coming back if we weren't satisfied with the work they did. Frank

Stellar was asked to convert the attic of my home into an apartment with a separate entrance. The home was originally built in Rocklin, CA prior to the turn of the century, and was moved to it's current location around 1906 by steam tractor. At first glance, it looks like a turn of the century school house. The previous owner had created a space in the attic and built stairs inside the house. A balcony had also been added with a sliding glass door. There was no plumbing, but there was electrical. I had created two bedrooms up there with paneling and carpeting. The goal, however, was to create a complete apartment with kitchen, bath, laundry, bedroom, and dining space. Stellar came with both designers and structural experts to review the possibilities. Due to the age of the house, the challenge was significant. I had a rough idea of how I wanted the bathroom to be laid out. The kitchen, however, was a totally new creation which evolved after considerable discussion and thought. I knew where I wanted it, but plumbing and electrical constraints made it difficult. Ultimately, I was happy to have them run plumbing and power on the exterior wall to make it happen. We had a limited budget, and I had promised my daughter and son-in-law that we would have it ready within a fairly tight window of time. Stellar made every attempt to satisfy both issues. Along with the interior modifications, Stellar built a stairway from the backyard to the balcony to provide the separate entrance. Despite the limited space in the yard, Stellar developed a beautiful stairway in a very limited space which looks quite nice. Over all, we are very pleased with the outcome. We have had minor issues with the shower and electrical, but Stellar was quick to resolve these issues. Their crew was friendly, clean and efficient. I hope to attach pictures. We highly recommend their services.

In January 2014 we had a total kitchen remodel done by Stellar. The old kitchen was small, outdated and dysfunctional. They removed everything and expanded the kitchen footprint. We supplied the flooring, cabinets, counter top, back splash, appliances, sink, faucet and hardware. Total cost was $29,000 for labor. The transformation is amazing and we still get compliments from everyone who sees it. Overall it was a good experience. We lived in the house while the renovation took place, which is not something I would recommend, but they were able to work around us and after about 3 months we have a "stellar" home.
