Remodeling Consultants

Remodeling Consultants undertook a fairly large and complex remodeling job on our home, which included a kitchen, dining room, mudroom, powder room as well as an addition with a new bedroom and full bathroom. The project was conducted over two phases which added to the complexity. The people working on the house were very respectful and considerate. They did excellent work at a reasonable pace. We chose Remodeling Consultants specifically to handle some of the anticipated complexity in the job. While they did a very good job overall, there were some times when some elements slipped through the cracks that we had expected them to have a better handle over. All in all, while the communication and coordination wasn’t quite at the level we expected, the experience was quite positive and we would recommend them to anyone doing a similar project.

I am currently working with this company and it has been a nightmare thus far. After my project is completed in a couple months, I will update my review with every last detail as to why you need to stay away from this company.

We are very pleased with Remodeling Consultants, from the design and blueprint to the construction of our new open kitchen and adjacent areas in a very old house. Jorge and his architects were very patient and responsive to our needs and budget, answered our questions on what to expect, and provided advice and suggestions, as we have not experienced a major renovation before. Paul (supervisor) and Diblam (foreman) and their crew completed the work on schedule and per the blueprint. Jerry, Paul, Diblam and their crew were also very responsive, listened to our needs and made necessary adjustments for the unexpected, and ensured that the aftercare, clean up and inspections were completed.

Remodeling Consultants worked with me on a major renovation of my kitchen that included knocking down walls, expanding my formal dining room, and filling in part of my deck. All their subcontractors were amazing, and my project manager, Paul, was incredibly responsive during and after the build. I'm thrilled with my kitchen and dining room.

RC did an amazing job with my home extension/renovation. Communication was superb and their carpenter Lorenzo made sure I got the most of out of space. I highly recommend this company for anyone who wants a headache free service. This company handles everything even the permit process. Very happy with final product!

He also smoothly coordinated the subcontractors and always strived for perfection in all the work performed. We used RCI to renovate our primary bedroom. Overall, our experience was good and we are mostly happy with the finished product. During the initial phases, our designer, Jorge, was great, answered all my many many questions, and helped us navigate a few different big choices. I would have been completely paralyzed by decisions without his support, but also was occasionally left wondering what choices we didn't consider. Our only disappointment during the material selection was the tile. Jorge was very supportive, but the consultant we worked with at Rye Ridge Tile seemed to be in a rush. We ended up hugely over budget (despite me asking repeatedly if we were looking at things that fell within budget) and with tiles that had red markings on them that looked like wear and tear on the samples but were claimed to be (oddly) intentional. We were able to adjust our design and get within budget, but the final product has random markings on it. During our work itself, we were consistently impressed with Lorenzo. He was predictable, courteous and REALLY looked out for us. He asked us all the right questions, he identified issues, he really cared that our space was clean and our family was safe as he left each day and he cared that we loved the final product and all the decisions along the way. For example, the mirror we ordered just wasn't right and instead of just putting it up, Lorenzo knew we wouldn't be happy and asked. On the not-so-great side of things, we had significant issues with the plumber, including the shower not passing the stress test twice and us feeling like we had to 'prove it' as water leaked into our kitchen below. There were some things that were just a little sloppy - two electrical outlets above the sinks were not even. The taping was a surprise huge cost and was very, very necessary given some of the holes and bumps that remained in the walls. At the end, it was difficult to know when the taper/painter should come versus when the final things were finished and how to really know that it was done. I feel like it would have been helpful to have our superintendent still involved in directing traffic as we understood what the punch list was and finished coordinating between the electrician, painter and other final touches. It lead to there being a few things we just 'gave up on' and will live with. The few things we couldn't live with, we were appreciative to have Paul come and pick up at the very very end! Generally, we were glad to have someone to call and someone looking out for us along the way -- we know that isn't something all construction projects have. RCI was right for us at this time, for this project, given what we could and couldn't commit to it in terms of time and energy, and we would recommend to others who had needs similar to ours.

I highly recommend Remodeling Consultants - they did an amazing job with our Kitchen / Great room. Alan Lobien was immensely helpful in putting together the designs and making sure each and every drawer/cabinet had exactly what we imagined. He was patient and thorough and helpful with so many of the selections throughout the process. Matt Slattery, was excellent setting up all appointments with the contractors and sub-contractors and made sure everything moved along smoothly, with limited help from me. I work full time so this was the main reason we picked Remodeling Consultants - they handled everything so we didn't have to. Diego was such a hard worker, cleaned up each day, was very considerate and did SO MUCH work with very limited helping hands. The team overall was excellent as were the sub-contractors they recommended for the rest of the project from painters to floors to electricians.

Remodeling Consultants was wonderful in helping us remodel our kitchen in our first home. They held our hands step by step through the whole process and were very responsive and communicative. The project was completed in a timely manner and it came out better then we could have imagined. We are so pleased with our experience with them. Would highly recommend them for all your construction needs!

Working with RC has been a pleasure from start to finish. From Jorge in design, to our project manager Dave, to our carpenter Diplam- they were nothing but professional, responsive, and thorough. The quality of the work is great and they were able to make our vision come to life. I highly recommend RC and would use them again.

RC was a pleasure to work with through the entire process from design and budgeting through construction and closeout. They made the design process easy, they staffed the job with qualified and friendly people and the owner was available throughout the project.

This is a review for a second major project we hired Remodeling Consultants (RC) to do for us -this time our basement! We needed to completely gut our basement right down to laying new underground plumbing and a concrete slab under the house. RC seamlessly handled all of the permits and suggested the proper work we needed done to bring the space up to code -- resulting in a space that is highly functional and healthier. All of the RC staff, especially our foreman, and the subcontractors were highly professional, and answered my questions every day. Our site supervisor, Dave W. was on site daily directing and coordinating all of the work--always with a smile and attention to detail. Dave even responded to texts with questions outside of working hours. The team worked with very little guidance and effort from us as homeowners - we trusted they would get the job done right. We are SO happy with both major projects RC completed for us!
