Against the Grain Designs, LLC

Against the Grain Design, LLC was formed by professional kitchen and bath designer, Scott Grubb. Starting in the industry at the local box store, Scott knew he did not want to spend his career wearing a red vest and being called to the plumbing department to assist customers. However, it was this foot in the door and Scott’s determined work ethic, that has lead him on the path that he has followed for over 15 years. With each year, scott has refined his skills and techniques to bring a different approach to design. Seeing spaces differently than others, Scott is always looking and pushing for that one idea no one else has. This talent, along with his honesty and experience in remodeling, quickly gains the trust of his clients. “I’ve never been a sales person, I’m a designer. People don’t pay me to just agree with them to get a quick sale. My job is to help create a space that leaves an impression on everyone that walks into the room. My job is to make the perfect image a client thinks they see in their head, a reality.” – Scott Grubb After running multiple design and remodeling companies, moving forward the next step for Scott was always to start his own company named Against the Grain Designs. Scotts goals for ATG Designs is to create a company that offers not just great design services, but excellent customer service that is tailored to each client’s needs. Being a small business, ATG Designs relies not only on Scotts skills, but also every vender and sub-contractor they partner with. Each vender and sub-contractor are hand-picked by Scott over years of finding the right relationships. ATG Designs does not partner with just anyone, they partner with the best and it shows in each project. “I’m picky, I’m prompt, and I want it right. Each person or company I partner with is a reflection of me, and they know it. I don’t just use companies that give me the cheapest price, I partner with others that care just as much about a project as I do!” – Scott Grubb
