Henri van Riet Architect was established as an architectural practice in Brisbane in 1992. As a small architectural firm, we specialise in home designs and renovations. With total project knowledge by one person - the architect, all work is well planned and streamlined. The practice has a strong interest in creating sustainable, affordable and efficient, beautiful architecture through careful spatial planning, appropriate choices of materials and ultimately responding to both the site and local climatic conditions. Using a traditional contract system for the construction stage of a project, Henri and his staff are able to manage and oversee every stage of the design and construction process, allowing a fair and mediated relationship between the client, architect and builder.

Henri was our architect when we built our house 10 years ago and we still talk and wish each other the best. He also renovated our daughter's apartment in the city. Both projects have been a great success. My wife and I are constantly reminded how happy we are with the decision to use Henri. During the build Henri's management of time, cost and keeping us informed and involved was beyond reproach. We have a wonderful house built to suit our environment and our philosophies.

Henri has undertaken two large projects for our family on the last 10 years We have no hesitation in recommending Henri, in fact we positively encourage you to engage him if you have a significant build or renovation to undertake. Henri is a pleasure to deal with. He is often available outside of hours and willspend the time with you to investigate a potential project. If he feels the project is a mistake – he will honestly tell you even if this means a large project won’t go ahead. Henri brings an eye for design and detail. Our aesthetic is similar however Henri can make your vision become reality and give you a true sense of what it might cost. Henri is inventive and his wealth of experience added immensely to the quality of our design, and crucially allowed us to avoid potential costly mistakes. Henri also provided project management expertise that saw the job finished on time and on budget. This result was definitely due to Henri - he handled negotiations with the builder and our body corporate as needed – keeping us out of any conflict situation that may have developed. 5 stars +++

Henri worked with us to remodel our townhouse in Clayfield. He presented us with fantastic design options which captured the brief perfectly. He brought excellent trades to the project and managed the project to deliver it on time and within our budget parameters. I have no hesitating in recommending Henri and would happy work with him again

Henri worked together with us over 18 months, to meet our brief + value added through recommendations + attention to detail. He is very hands on. His frequent visits on site ensured quality work from builders / tradies. This all resulted in a quality, practical + very liveable home, with lovely features. He moulds the building to the land in harmony and efficiency, taking into account all variables in terms of orientation, energy use and elegant beauty of design.
