The Stair Barrier

Founded by Janelle Lowe Fitzpatrick in 2015, The Stair Barrier manufactures fabric safety gates designed to keep children and pets off stairs. Offered in a wide selection of fabrics and designed specifically for the bottom of staircases, Stair Barriers are available in Banister to Banister and Banister to Wall styles in Regular (36"-42") and Wide (43"-52") widths. A newly launched Custom Division provides a solution for grand staircases. The Stair Barrier safety gates are proudly American made. The gates are manufactured in Cornelia, Georgia using fabric milled in North Carolina and materials sourced and manufactured in the U.S. Growing up in a Ford family, Janelle truly understands what American made means for families and communities and has remained steadfast in her commitment to building her product line in the United States, which enables her to touch the materials, see her product being built, and to know the people making it. She works with her manufacturing partners on a daily basis, developing new solutions, and building the best possible product. With much of the textile business going overseas, it has been a rewarding experience to build her business using a family-owned, state-side business as her manufacturing partner. Additionally, The Stair Barrier is proud to offer fabrics milled with REPREVE, a leading producer of recycled fibers derived from plastic bottles.
