Great quality work, professional, tidy, worked within estimate : money and time wise. Andy is knowledgeable in all aspects of brownstone renovation. He also was resourceful in getting hard to find material. For work his team does not do, he was helpful in getting the good quality referral required.

We hired Thompson to do our bathroom and refinishing of the rest of the unit. Their understanding of the design as well as the very specific requirements were demonstrated throughout the project. Input, suggestions were very useful and made the collaboration rewarding. I have been involved with numerous high end residence renovations and we were pleased to find Thompson to do our our own home. Cleanliness, attention to detail and quality is comparable to what is seen in NYC.

I'm so pleased with how the Thompson team handled our kitchen renovation. We had just purchased the unit and the old kitchen was horrible. We were so lucky that we called Andy at the right time and he was able to take on this job. The team was always punctual, kept the communication open and clear, and they were meticulous with cleaning up at the end of every day. They are perfectionists (in the best possible way), provide amazing service, and go above and beyond. They were also kind enough to help us out with little unrelated things along the way too, like fixing the dryer exhaust. I love that they have the BuilderTrend app to track all of the work so you can see progress along the way! They handled it all for us - fresh paint for the entire place, redoing the hardwood floors, and a brand new kitchen! The thought of hiring a contractor to gut renovate our kitchen was terrifying, but I am really happy we went with Andy. I will absolutely hire him again.

We hired Andy at Thompson Fine Home Renovations to fully renovate our guest bath and to create an "attic" space in our loft apartment in Hoboken. We had a long and specific list of wants, and Andy came back with a fair and comprehensive quote. The project included everything from putting up new walls and ceilings to installing radiant floor heating and recessed lights. We were impressed by the team’s professionalism, knowledge, and organization. There was never a lack of communication; through the BuilderTrend system, we received daily progress reports and photos and could keep track of the schedule. Our countless questions/ideas/concerns were met with patience and thoughtfulness from Andy and project-manager Alex. The in-house design service, included in our project, was another selling point; designer Ana was super easy to work with and very helpful when it came to pulling the trigger on so many design and detail decisions. Andy works with a regular crew of guys—a consistency we found reassuring—and they were hard working, neat, and polite. The work area was sealed off with plastic zip doors to contain the dust; at the end of the day, the site was organized and vacuumed. Overall, it was a very good experience and we’re happy with the project results. We look forward to working with Andy and his team again.

We hired Andy at Thompson Fine Home Renovations to create a 3rd bedroom/den/playroom in our new condo unit in Hoboken. Andy's team was great! He was always in communication with us to give us updates and gave us access to his BuilderTrend website to view progress photos and the project schedule. His team was very neat and sealed off their work area with plastic to keep the dust contained to the work area only. We were beyond satisfied with the completion of the project and will definitely hire Thompson Fine Home Renovations for future work!

I used Thompson Fine Home renovation for a gut renovation of a bathroom. It was a very easy process and well managed from start to finish. Andy, Alex and the whole team were always professional and available to help and answer any questions or deal with issues that arose. I never had a complaint about any of the team, they were always respectful and left everything tidy each and every day. The bathroom was completed in a timely manner and looks great. Andy and his team are exceptionally professional, thorough and have an amazing eye for detail. We hired them for a complete kitchen and master bath gut along with lighting on the main floor of our home. We could not be happier with the finished product. It has been a pleasure to work with Thompson Fine Home Renovations. We renovated our apartment after extensive water damage. Andy and his team, helped with the redesign of three bathrooms and our kitchen. We are thrilled with the renovation! His designer Ana was patient and gave great input during the design process. Andy and his project manager Alex are true perfectionists. His team is very professional and works very well together. The team was always organized during the process and all seem to really enjoy what they do. Thompson uses cloud based project management software which is updated daily with pictures to track the progress. This was great to see the progress online since we were not living there through the renovation and we travel. Four months after we moved into our renovated apartment our neighbors had a leak. Andy came right over and was able to detect and prevent our new kitchen from total flood damage. I highly recommend Thompson Fine Home Renovations and have referred Andy and his team to our friends.

Had a wonderful experience with Andy and his team of skilled craftsman. A lot of time was spent on all the details and I was very pleased with their in-depth knowledge on building permits and working in older buildings, such as mine. I also appreciated that they were willing to come back and fix things after the job was done that by others would have been seen as minor details and not worth the time to complete, but not Andy. He really cares about making sure everything is done properly. I also appreciated their use of technology and being able to see the process every day on their daily work log. If I have any productive criticism I would say that there were times that I thought/felt things were taking a bit longer than necessary (slow) and I felt that there could have been a little more clarity on costs in some situations - but I learned a lot from my experience with Andy and feel like this could be easily fixed and I would happily work with him and his team again on another project/home!

It's a funny thing when you move out of your home, hand the keys to a contractor and give them unfettered access to your home. Since this was the first renovation I've ever done, I didn't realize how much *trust* plays a role. I essentially gave Thompson Fine Home Renovations complete control of my home and my largest single asset. Thankfully any concerns that I did have quickly vanished. I'll get to the renovation and quality of the work / craftsmanship later. I think it's more important to note that I trusted Andy & his team. I trusted them with the contents of my home. I trusted them with the quality of the work. I trusted them scope and cost of the project. I trusted them to get the job done on time. I was correct to trust them in every aspect. We first met Andy and his team in April of 2018. The goal was to start the project on July 1st and have it done before September 1st. The job itself was a complete gutting of the kitchen & master bathroom, installing ceiling electric and painting the entire apartment with the exception of 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. A pretty big job for just 8 weeks. (For the record, they finished one day early) Prior to the start, when Andy & I reviewed the final estimate I asked him something like "And how much over this estimate do you think it's actually going to be?" He said - "As long as something weird doesn't happen, that's the cost. I know what I'm doing and that's the cost." He was spot on- aside from something weird actually happening... that was the exact cost. He accounted for everything and the cost we agreed to, was the cost of the project. One of the coolest things about working with Thompson is the app that you download on your phone. At the end of each day, the Thomson Team takes photos of what they accomplished that day. It's awesome on a number of levels. First - you get to see real time updates. Second you know that they are working every day. I've heard so many horror stories about Contractors who drop of their tools and just leave. Stories about jobs that drag on for an eternity while you the homeowner is presented with a litany of reasons why. On more than one occasion I did a random "pop-in" in on the job and there were always people working. One time there were *9* dudes in my apartment all working hard. Andy has a very strong team supporting him. We were fortunate to have Alex as the lead builder on our home. Alex was not just great at his job. We are 100% certain that Alex was vested in our home. He genuinely wanted to make it our dream home. He talked us out of more expensive items because he genuinely felt it was in our best interest. His suggestions / ideas were always geared towards making everything just right. He carried this goal every single day of the job. Alex is totally awesome. It's important to note that the Thompson Team were also extremely responsive. If I reached out to them, they nearly always responded on the same day. That includes weekends. If you've read this far, you've probably surmised the actual finished product. We love our new home. We love the quality of the work put into it. We love the attention to detail. We have zero regrets and think that Andy, Alex & the Thompson Team earned every penny. If I were provide any advice to homeowners, I would only say "Don't make decisions based on pictures from emails or links to websites." I would make sure to actually see every paint color, every tile, every appliance, every faucet handle - Everything that's going in your home- you should touch and see it in person. For us it got overwhelming and or maybe we just got lazy. I am of the opinion that you would be lucky to allow Andy & his team work on your home. Trust ME when I tell that it will be the correct decision.
