As a complete novice when it comes to construction it was really good to be working with professionals who did! I am absolutely delighted with my extension which has managed to retain the old quirky charm of the original cottage whilst adding a bight and modern living space.

After our initial feasibility visit, Tony and the team came up with several options for our extension and we ended up with a design that we loved. Being a construction novice, I had so many questions throughout the process, many thanks to Josh who was always on hand to answer quickly as well as dealing with the planning application process for us.

We took a long time to decide and review what we wanted. Tony drew up 4 plans for us which ranged from a complete rethink to develop our original idea. Any subsequent tweaks were accommodated by Josh; again with a range of options.

I would like to leave this positive review based on our dealings with Tony and his team at Building Tectonics Ltd, especially Josh and Liam. We do not live in Milton Keynes and our project, to an add an extension to my existing new built home, was undertaken almost entirely remotely to our complete satisfaction. I found Building Tectonics Ltd via Google and was initially sceptical, but after a couple of meetings with Tony, the drawings started to come through. We went through a total of 6 plans, one bettering the previous one until we were totally satisfied. Josh and Liam played an important and relentless role in perfecting the plans. They also helped us receive planning permission and building regulations approval too. Since we live away from Milton Keynes, we were not familiar with local builders. They were able to give us some non-committal recommendations of builders based on their previous work of their clients. We choose one with whom we felt we could work well with. The Building Tectonics team continued to support our builder with clarifications as the Project progressed. In the end, we had the project completed to our standards. I would be happy to recommend Building Tectonics Ltd wholeheartedly and I hope they will continue to provide the same level of professionalism and expertise to their future clients.

We were sold the feasibility scheme on the basis that Tony & his team would visit & spend 2.5-3.5 hours with us discussing our extension plans, providing ideas etc. The reality was Building Tectonics were with us for less than 2 hours, & 90% of that time was spent measuring our house, with very little time discussing our options etc. We have a 3 storey house, we made clear we would never ever do any amendments/improvements with the top floor, yet so much of the time was spent measuring this as it has 2 dormers. We were even more underwhelmed when we received the 2 scheme options. We expected at least 1 of the schemes to closely follow what we were hoping to achieve. Neither did, & the 2nd involved adding c3-4 foot to the back of our house which was frankly bizarre, & it seemed as if it was simply created to show an alternate scheme to justify the fee we had paid for this "service". We asked why our hope of squaring the house off to maximise the views with doors across the back of the house wasn't provided, & the response was because Tony likes to cook, so he would enjoy looking out of the window. We were so very disappointed. Unfortunately, our dis-satisfaction fell on deaf ears with BT, & having now had a subsequent initial meeting with another local firm, we are now far more informed of our options. I would strongly advise the BT's feasibility scheme for the clear reasons noted above, & especially as the reality was vastly different to what was indicated prior to agreeing to proceed.

Can’t recommend enough. Architect with great vision and very in tune with client wish list. Really gets under the skin if making a great design - highly recommended by us, we have used building tectonics twice for projects and would never think of going elsewhere. The best!

We were undecided about whether to move or extend our house. We had lots of ideas for extending from single to double storey and even loft and wanted to look at options for extending with a professional but didn’t know how to do this really. A bit of research turned up Tony and Building Tectonics on Houzz and particularly the feasibility process. We decided that it was a cost effective way to help us decide what to do. The feasibility process structured our ideas and thoughts along with some professional advice into something practical and tangible and gave us 4 or 5 options to look at. We decided that extending was a better idea than moving so engaged with Tony and the team to produce drawings for our chosen scheme. We changed our minds on the design several times, all of which was handled without any fuss from the Building Tectonics team. Building Tectonics helped us through the planning process and getting the structural calcs done so that we could get proper quotes rather than estimates. There were some complications to the structural steel that Building Tectonics then incorporated seamlessly into the design. When we had appointed a builder, Building Tectonics helped us with building control and Tony even cast his eye over the contract we agreed with the builder and we made some changes on his recommendations. Our process from initial email to finished build took us about 2 years, and we were engaged with Building Tectonics for that whole time. All in all, the service we received was fantastic and although it could be said that we have effectively just put a rectangle on the back of our house, it has been done properly with design considerations and details that we could never have even thought of, let alone achieved. The space flows as it should and this is down to those clever design details and the process that Tony and his team went through with us. We are very pleased with the end result and from a client experience point of view, this is a great company to work with.

We wanted to renovate our home but we were quite nervous about the amount of space we would achieve if we went ahead. Infact I had been told by more than 1 other architect that our ideas were unrealistic. Tony came round and was very reassuring, his team have been extremely flexible and accommodating throughout the process. Building work is frustrating and it’s important to have an architect that understands what you are trying to achieve and comes up with multiple ways of realising your vision.

I recently had an issue with a planning application for a listed building. The council required floor plans to scale to be submitted before approval.i contacted Building Tectonics for advise and they were incredibly helpful and offered to do whatever they could to overcome any issues. I spoke with Tony Keller who,although busy, made time for me and reassured me of his willingness to help. It was so refreshing to deal with a company who went out of their way to help

Tony and his team a truly first class! This group is proactive, innovative, and always available for brainstorming. They have created our dream house on paper and we can't wait to make it a reality. We look forward to working with Tony throughout our building journey.

We have successfully reached the stage of requesting planning permission for the house which we are hoping to build in our garden. The Building Tectonics team have been great. They provided two sets of possible plans and were happy to work with both until we made the decision of which to go with. First approached Tectonics in 2011 and then again in mid 2014 to draw up plans for separate house extensions. Very happy with the service provided on both occasions. The process and associated costs were clearly spelt out. The provision of alternative design solutions, offering different ideas for consideration was particularly helpful. Tectonics experience with the local planning team and procedures undoubtedly helped ease the path when submitting for the necessary approvals. Plus, it was no small matter that Tectonics were consistently very friendly/approachable people to deal with too. All good and pleased to recommend.

Professional, organised, company! Did a fantastic job of generating ideas and drawing up the plans for an extention on my property. Listened to my requirements and incorpoarted plans to the best accomodate my requirements. This simply would not have been possible without Building Tectonics! Building Tectronics, where do I begin: contacted Tony at building Tectronics with my restaurant project. We had a very tight budget with very limited time. Firstly, this firm has time for everyone and were the first to respond to my inquiry having contacted 4 firms. This company are extremely professional and have a passion for their clients no matter how small the company or the size of their budget. This company went over and beyond in delivering our project, not only in the deliver of our architectural drawings but also consulted for us in identifying and managing our building contractors. Building Tectonics were very helpful and professional right from the onset . We had a small extension project , I was unaaver of the procedures involved in obtaining a planning permission, after some consultation Tony and his team guided us through the process. I have no hesitation in recommending the Company .

We had been considering converting our loft space for some time but were concerned that the available space was too small for what we needed. Luckily, a friend recommended us to get in contact with BTL - which we did. When we spoke with Tony and his team at BTL, they offered us a feasibility study to see if what we wanted to do was possible. We were amazed at the original ideas and free-thinking that made the space available not only come to life, but it soon became apparent from the plans that we could actually have more usable space than we actually thought possible. My main contact at Building Tectonics (BT) was Tony Keller. We purchased the property in March 2010. We loved the area and wanting to extend the kitchen, creating a larger space with separate utility room. BT were extremely professional and supportive all the way! They provided many designs and discussed options with us. We have also asked BT to help with all there was to do with planning & building regulations and permissions, as well as structural engineering. We were very lucky also with the builders, but the project would have even started if we didn't have the support and guidance of Tony and his team first. We are embarking in the second phase of the extension now, this time: garden room, added dressing room and extra bedroom... Of course Building Tectonics are helping again!

Our conservatory included a kitchen, dining room/lounge with no doors & a plastic roof so we were very cold in the winter. We contacted Building Tectonics who transformed our uncomfortable space into a very light garden room by taking the walls down between the kitchen & dining room/lounge & adding a proper roof. We now enjoy cooking, eating & relaxing in a great open space
