Über uns

Creating beautiful gardens for our clients has been my life passion. Since finishing my university studies, I have been working in Horticulture in a variety of areas. Working outdoors, reading the climate, understanding the soil, knowing which plants grow well in particular areas, implementing sustainable garden practices, listening to my client's needs and then creating the garden of their dreams. Gardens need to be lived in, so we design them as an extension of the home. It is my hope that by designing and creating these gardens I can encourage more people to get outside and enjoy the lifestyle benefits it brings.

I may have given more stars after the initial work. The planting plan wasn’t followed but other work was done to a reasonable standard. However, Tony was paid in good faith when a tree wasn’t available at the time of completion. 8 months later and I still haven’t received the tree or a reasonable alternative or a refund. Many emails sent and promises broken. Furthermore, our installed gate was meant to come with a lock and sprung hinges. Again promises to come and rectify that never happened. Very disappointed and feel ripped off after acting in good faith.

Hi Adrian,
this is entirely my fault. I should have acted much earlier to fix this for you. I honestly just forgot to put it on my to do list. I will send you a couple of pictures of replacement trees and will supply the tree and fix the gate by Friday 13th March.
Thank you for bringing it to my attention. We all need a wakeup call occasionally and this is one I will definitely learn from,

We hired Distinctive Gardens to pave an area outside our front door (including a new slab) and to remove the original tiling which had cracked and was allowing water through. We chose pavers that were difficult to lay with both colour variations and different thicknesses. The job was technically demanding and required that the fall be just right to allow water to run off and not pool, and at the same time judgement was needed on the part of the team members involved to ensure that the colours were distributed evenly throughout (see photo). We are very happy with the result and appreciate the expertise and commitment from Distinctive Gardens which ensured the result that we wanted.

We have engaged Tony now on a number of occasions, with respect to plant selection, planting, mulching, garden edging, crushed granite paths, turfing and our bespoke water feature. No job is too big or too small. He has a very pleasant and friendly disposition and worked well with us to achieve what we wanted, no matter what obstacles where in front of him.

We have been using Distinctive Gardens since we did a major renovation to our property 10 years ago. It started with lawns and gardens, a complete underground drip watering system, fencing, electric controlled gates all still in great working order. Then we decided to add a 'chook run' which they built and extended a couple of years later. More recently we decided to add an enclosed vege garden and they built it complete with a watering system. We now enjoy fresh veges from our own garden in a small Red Hill block of land. Thank you Tony for turning our block in to a garden paradise. Nicola & Anthony

Tony & his team from Distinctive Gardens were professional & respectful through each stage of our project. We required a mix of work including a retaining wall, creation of a grass platform, paving & replacement of some pergola posts. Tony was always contactable & responded to any questions. We were pleased with the quality of the workmanship.

Tony Wakeham and his team from Distinctive Gardens undertook the complete redevelopment of our backyard in a professional and timely manner. The work involved removing a long stone retaining wall and most existing vegetation and replacing these with a stepped concrete block wall, new gardens and trellis, turfing, deco service area, chicken coop and run with outdoor feature led lighting and automated sprinkler system. This company was thorough, maintained good communication with us throughout, took pride in its work and kept to our agreed budget. We are very pleased with the result and hope to use the company again for our next landscape project.

Kommentiert: Sandstone supplierI brought the stone from J.H.Wagner and co. at Sumner Park in Brisbane. They are 40 to 50mm thick slabs that we glued onto a block wall. It was a big job but it came up really well. kind regards, ...
