After retiring from teaching middle school for 25 years and my husband retiring from being an engineer for 32 years, we are so thankful to be building our retirement dream home on the lake. Our builder has worked with Traditions in Tile for many years, and he sent us to Amy in the Athens showroom. After our showroom experience with Amy B, we can certainly understand why he chooses them for his tile projects. Amy spent so much time with us listening to our ideas, looking at our pictures, and pulling numerous things from the showroom to help us complete our kitchen and bathroom designs. She had so many great ideas for us and put everything together so beautifully. We took up a lot of her time in the showroom that day, but she made us feel like there was nothing more important than making us happy with the selections. She even used my love of quilts and pictures of our bedroom quilt to help us come up with a special designs in our showers that mimic quilt patterns. We highly recommend working with Amy B at Traditions in Tile.

I was doing a renovation on my house and I had trouble at other tile suppliers so I decided to try this local tile shop that was conveniently located downtown Atlanta. The employees were very friendly and helpful in the design and the price points were exactly what I was trying to stay within. I see the negative reviews online but that is not the experience I had at all. The tile was delivered on time and the renovation turned out just as we had discussed. I will definitely return for my future projects.

Melissa is fantastic! Professional, knowledgeable and patient, Melissa turned what could have been a frustrating and overwhelming experience into a successful and painless outing. With her expertise, I was able to help my clients select tile for the various rooms in their new lake home. Between offering us snacks and her clever but wise counsel, my clients left Traditions laughing and smiling. (She's also an amateur comedienne.) She certainly made me look good. Also, besides having wonderful associates, Traditions has a wide selection of unique and beautiful tile whether it be in stone, ceramic, porcelain, or glass. Traditions in Athens Georgia was recommended by our flooring guy, so we set up an appointment. We were in and out within 30 minutes and worked with A. Brickman. She was absolutely amazing and made it quite easy to pick out what we needed to blend with the rest of our colors.... The tile is beautiful and we would recommend Traditions highly.

I was really impressed with both the selection and the professional level of service. I do plan on returning when my kitchen backsplash project is closer to being installed.

Kat Nelson Designs has had a long time relationship with Traditions in Tile. They are our go-to for tile products. Their showrooms carry a wide variety of product and price points to meet all of our clients needs. We particularly enjoy working with Karyn in Alpharetta, as she makes selections, decision making and quoting so easy for our clients.

I would give them 0 stars if I could! Horrible experience from the beginning at Sharpsburg location and our problems are still not solved. I placed an order and paid in full on 7/10/17. I was told the tile would typically take two weeks to come in. In about mid August our contractor checked on our order and we found out it had never even gone through and no one at the store had any idea! They certainly made sure my payment for approximately $6000 went though. I got one excuse after another and no one took responsibility or even seemed to care. One person said it was probably the supplier's fault, someone else said maybe the fax didn't go through. (There were two different tile suppliers for the order because we ordered some special glass tile for a border. So, two different faxes didn't go through?) I have never ordered a thing without getting some kind of confirmation. What kind of inept company has no idea an order didn't go though?!! A few days after the order was finally actually placed they said our wall tile was in. When our contractor picked it up and delivered it to our home the bundles looked like something similar to what we had ordered. It wasn't until they opened the bundles when starting the install that I realized we had been cheated. When the top piece was removed from each bundle the tiles underneath were inferior to the top pieces. I went and talked to the manager, Shane, and told him that I didn't think it looked like quality tile. All of the samples of the Ivory travertine we were shown in the store had smaller holes filled with material that closely matched the tile and the tiles were honed smooth. The tile that we got had many very large holes that were filled with a white, rough plaster looking material that didn't even come close to matching the color of the tile and large voids on the back. Some of the tiles would just crumble in our installer's hand. Shane said it was normal and the voids on the back were good because they helped the tile "stick better". Since we were so far behind schedule because of their order fiasco and I had taken time off from work for a supposed 3-4 week project, I let him talk me into not doing anything but I wasn't convinced. I started doing my own research on the different grades of travertine. I found out that the fewer the holes/fill and the better the color of the fill matches the tile, the better the travertine. I was feeling like maybe we were just stuck and didn't know what else to do. When our floor tile finally came in and looked like what we had ordered, then I was really mad. The floor tile and wall tile orders had been the same material, ordered from the same company, just different shape/size. They didn't look anything alike. At that point we stopped all work and I contacted Traditions in Tile's customer service and let them know we were very unhappy and felt we had been cheated. The representative was nice but still just seemed to make excuses. He said he would get back to me. The store manager, Shane came to our house and I again told him my concerns about having a material with so many large, filled areas in the shower causing us problems down the road when the fill fails. I heard from him a couple of days later and he said the VP of the company wanted to come take a look but it would have to be a couple weeks away due to him being out of town. I met with him on September 25th. He seemed nice enough and said they want to make sure we were happy so I thought finally maybe someone was going to do something. When he got back to me he just said he wanted my contractor to clean and grout a section of the tile and he thought we would like it better. He never even addressed my concerns about the quality and possible problems in the future. I really feel like they are being deceptive in their marketing practices. If the travertine we got was so "normal" then some of their samples should have been of similar quality. It is just bait and switch as far as I am concerned. If their samples would have been like what we received, I never would have ordered it in the first place. It makes me so angry because I even made a point with Julie, the showroom manager, that the quality was very important to me since this would be going in our shower and I didn't want to have any problems down the road. She said there really wasn't much difference in the qualities of the different ivory travertines sold there. Sorry for such a long review but I think people need to know how they operate.

The showroom at Traditions in Tile in Athens provides excellent displays of their products. My husband and I are building a new home for the second time in 30 years. We have no tile in our present home, so this was a brand new experience. Our seasoned and very competent builder (& my brother), Greg Conley, had helped us determine our budget on tile prior to arriving. Dawn Land did an outstanding job of supporting us in our selections and in representing this company. She was amazing! She was patient and kind during our moments of indecision. She never once attempted to entice us with products that would exceed our budget. She even introduced us to a less expensive tile that was a better match in one room which allowed us to splurge in another room! I can't wait to see it when it's all finished!
