“Cushman designed and oversaw construction of my small inn, sterling Ridge Inn. The design was economical and sited perfectly with the natural beauty of the meadows, woods, and spectacular mountains. Inside, on the porches, or in the grounds, one felt comfortably connected to the nearby natural beauty. Everything, from the convenience of the kitchen to the light and comfort of the cathedral ceiling living room gave great comfort to the inkeeper (me), as well as my guests.”

“A member of Birdseye Design offered to show a home to me that was designed by their company and nearly complete. The home in Shelburne was incredibly beautiful and no detail was left unfinished. The project was an entire home design and it was truly stunning. It made an impression on me for sure.”

“Melissa designed a kitchen and vertical addition to my 1820 brick one-room schoolhouse in Vermont. She was super thoughtful to find ways to preserve the original timber framing of the roof while maximizing the interior space for storage, second bedroom and office. The kitchen is almost finished and is a dream to work in. I haven't done the tower/dormer construction yet, but I dream about it daily!”

We asked Brown and Davis to explain the process to us and help us understand exactly how it would work. They exceeded our expectations in that regard from introduction to construction finish. The design that they came up with took 100% of our functional needs and aesthetic direction into consideration and turned it into a modern, practical and livable space that we never could have imagined on our own. We couldn't be happier with our home and look forward to renovating a few more spaces in our home in the future with the Brown & Davis team.”

“Ray Boutin provided all the design work and most of the supervision on a significant home improvement project on our new house in Hyde Park, Vt. As the chief designer for Vermont Vernacular, the firm that did the work, Ray was our key contact and an outstanding collaborator for us. He was exceptionally creative, imaginative and thoughtful, and a great pleasure to work with. And he paid careful attention to all details. We were so pleased with Ray's work and the job that Vermont Vernacular did for us that we are hiring Ray and his firm to do a major addition to the house this spring. All the workmen that VV and Ray brought onto the job were skillful and very good to work with. We have just moved to Vermont, and we were a little nervous about taking on a construction project when we don't know the territory. But, with Ray and VV, it was an outstanding experience. --Maxwell King”
