Need help with interior paint decision

We bought this home 2 months back and have started painting it. One of the big concerns we want to address with paint is to make the ceiling look taller. It is an 8 ft tall ceiling. We just painted one room and I am not sure if we are doing the right thing.
Right now the whole house is painted with semi gloss paint on walls and ceiling. The walls have texture on them so to hide the texture better we chose a flat paint.
I have posted pic of the bedroom. All the colors are Behr premium plus ultra. Wall is Down home in flat and ceiling is Swiss coffee in flat. The baseboard is Swiss coffee in semi gloss.
I don't see a clear separation of color between walls and ceiling but I see the difference between the wall and the baseboard. Why is that?
Also, what should we do to ensure the ceiling looks taller?
