1517 Rusholme cres. The dyi house
Picture a wall half way through the island......we installed a steel beam(well, my husband and nine of this friends) after it was dropped off on our front lawn. We bought this house knowing we where going to remove the wall and create an open concept main room. The previous owner had just installed new ikea cabinets that had never been used, but the maple colour was not what I wanted. But we also had to purchase more cabinets than what we had for our plan to work. So I colour matched the ikea white and painted the existing cabinets. It obviously saved us a ton of money. My bother in law is a laminate counter installer so we got a deal on our amazingly real looking marble back counter tops. The island granite was a spurge. We had the help of an amazing cabinet maker(and now good friend) who designed and built the wine wrack above the fridge and help us install the cabinets and mouldings. The back splash was aslo a deal at under $5 per foot.
