Located by the second staircase off the kitchen, this lower level workstation can function as a craft center, tutoring and multiple stations for a variety of activities. The wallpaper on the back accent wall play creatively against the flat slab woodgrain cabinetry, and a center peninsula provides extra storage and countertop space.

Hibbs HomesThe office in this custom-crafted home in Highland, UT is a standout. The built-in cabinetry is the same as the rest of the main level, but painted in a rich Hale Navy. The gorgeous light fixture is an aged brass, 6-light pendent with a matching medallion that beautifully compliments the light's design.
Rasmus BlaesbjergA little over a year ago my retaining wall collapsed by the entrance to my house bringing down several tons of soil on to my property. Not exactly my finest hour but I was determined to see as an opportunity to redesign the entry way that I have been less than happy with since I got the house.
I wanted to build a structure together with a new wall I quickly learned it required foundation with cement caissons drilled all the way down to the bedrock. It also required 16 ft setbacks from the hillside. Neither was an option for me.
After much head scratching I found the shed building ordinance that is the same for the hills that it is for the flatlands. The basics of it is that everything less than 120 ft, has no plumbing and with electrical you can unplug is considered a 'Shed' in the City of Los Angeles.
A shed it is then.
This is lead me the excellent high-end prefab shed builders called Studio Shed. I combined their structure with luxury vinyl flooring from Amtico and the 606 Universal Shelving System from Vitsoe. All the interior I did myself with my power army called mom and dad.
I'm rather pleased with the result which has been dubbed the 'SheShed'

House of a Different ColorHome office design. Previously a blank slate room: beige carpet and walls. Used client's existing desk and repurposed her antique lingerie chest for office supply storage. About half of the wall art was already owned by the client, but we reframed some pieces and added some. Picked up the rug, corner chair, side table, lamp, and small decor pieces from auctions and estate sales for pennies on the dollar. Client painted the accent wall herself, to save costs. Flooring was done in LVP as a whole-home re-flooring job at the start of the condo renovation, during which all flooring throughout the home was replaced with LVP except in bedrooms. Cost for materials, furniture, and decor purchased for this room was under $750; with flooring cost for this space added, it would be approximately $2,000 all in.
