Evergreens at the Foothills
Designed as a year round landscape feature , we reconstructed an existing berm. Scope of work included tree removal, stump grinding, land forming and contouring.
We repurposed existing plant material and added native gravel and river rock for mulch.
The intent was to create a pleasing landscape to be viewed 12 months a year from the breakfast nook.
A combination of green, gold and blue evergreens act as a foundation and backdrop. The gradual slope /elevation and positioning of the low to mid size shrubs are representative of the foothills with the pyramidal peaks of the Colorado blue spruce as the mountain peaks. The variety of flowering perennials and groun covers add color and interest for spring through fall.
The natural stone, boulders and evergreens supply winter interest consistantly throughout the season with special appeal in snow.
