John Webb Construction and Design
This 2 story home was originally built in 1952 on a tree covered hillside. Our company transformed this little shack into a luxurious home with a million dollar view by adding high ceilings, wall of glass facing the south providing natural light all year round, and designing an open living concept. The home has a built-in gas fireplace with tile surround, custom IKEA kitchen with quartz countertop, bamboo hardwood flooring, two story cedar deck with cable railing, master suite with walk-through closet, two laundry rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, office space, and mechanical room.

An electric fireplace adds ambiance & warmth to the living room as well as provides balance for the wall-mount TV. A pair of media consoles from West Elm offer additional storage while floating shelves provide a contemporary means on which to display the client's collections of pottery & baskets.

Mixing modern and rustic on this plain wall made it the focal point of the living room. Reclaimed barn wood created this accent/feature wall and on top of the warm rustic wall lies the contemporary wall mounted tv and electric fireplace marrying the warm rustic feel with the modern age. The idea for Scandinavian Hardwoods came after years of countless conversations with homeowners, designers, architects, and builders. The consistent theme: they wanted more than just a beautiful floor. They wanted insight into manufacturing locations (not just the seller or importer) and what materials are used and why. They wanted to understand the product’s environmental impact and it’s effect on indoor air quality and human health. They wanted a compelling story to tell guests about the beautiful floor they’ve chosen. At Scandinavian Hardwoods, we bring all of these elements together while making luxury more accessible.
