place architecture:designOpening the wall between the existing living room and kitchen allows for an easy flow into the new kitchen addition. The sun-filled breakfast area offers an open view to the client's gardens and reconfigured terrace. The tall ceiling, that slopes upward, and the high windows create an abundance of day-light.
A new electrical outlet is placed in the kitchen floor, for phase two, if the client should decide to install a permanent island, in the future. In the meanwhile, a temporary island, with storage shelves under the countertop, was purchased. Another cost-saver is open-shelving instead of upper cabinets.

Norsk Design-BuildThis project began with the request to update the existing kitchen of this eclectic waterfront home on Puget Sound. The remodel entailed relocating the kitchen from the front of the house where it was limiting the window space to the back of the house overlooking the family room and dining room. We opened up the kitchen with sliding window walls to create a natural connection to the exterior.
The bold colors were the owner’s vision, and they wanted the space to be fun and inviting. From the reclaimed barn wood floors to the recycled glass countertops to the Teppanyaki grill on the island and the custom stainless steel cloud hood suspended from the barrel vault ceiling, virtually everything was centered on entertaining.

The countertops are individually handcrafted and customized, using 100% recycled glass and diverting tons of glass from our landfills. The epoxy used is Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) and emits no off gassing. The newest product base is a high density, UV protected concrete. We now have indoor and outdoor options. As with the resin, the concrete offer the same creative aspects through glass choices.

BGI DesignThis galley sink is a cook's dream! Any board or bowl imaginable comes as an integrated piece so that cooking and serving are easy. Placed in front of the window with a park nearby, this is the perfect location for the sink. The countertops are made from recycled glass bottles and have specs of blue/green in them, perfectly enhanced by the glass backsplash.

White Wood KitchensThis Diamond Cabinetry kitchen designed by White Wood Kitchens reflects the owners' love of Cape Life. The cabinets are maple painted an "Oasis" blue. The countertops are Saravii Curava, which are countertops made out of recycled glass. With stainless steel appliances and a farm sink, this kitchen is perfectly suited for days on Cape Cod. The bathroom includes Versiniti cabinetry, including a vanity and two cabinets for above the sink and the toilet. Builder: McPhee Builders.

Rogers Design GroupThis contemporary kitchen in a luxury condominium is state of the art. The stained *cabinets are contrasted by white glass appliances, stainless steel accents and recycled glass countertops.
The floating wall houses the ovens, microwave, warming steamer on the kitchen side. On the opposite side there is a continuation of the fine woodwork throughout the space .
Refrigerators are completely built-in and clad in the same wood as to appear to be a cabinet.
Stainless drawers complete the base cabinet below the cooktop and create the detail at the corners of the center island. Dishwashers flank the sink and are covered in the same cabinetry forming a seamless effect.
The stone top on the outside island had a waterfall detail and additional storage.
Three pendent lights illuminate the leather swivel barstools with bronze iron bases.
