Compliment your pool and outdoor living space with a cabana structure. A cabana can be a great covered area for entertainment or can even include an outdoor kitchen, bathroom, storage and so much more.
An outdoor living space such as a cabana provides a wealth of opportunity for enhancing your time spent poolside and outdoors in your own backyard. It becomes additional living space that can serve a multitude of functions.

Originally planned as a family room addition with a separate pool cabana, we transformed this Newbury, MA project into a seamlessly integrated indoor/outdoor space perfect for enjoying both daily life and year-round entertaining. An open plan accommodates relaxed room-to-room flow while allowing each space to serve its specific function beautifully. The addition of a bar/card room provides a perfect transition space from the main house while generous and architecturally diverse windows along both sides of the addition provide lots of natural light and create a spacious atmosphere.

Our client wanted a simple, rectangle pool, long enough for swimming laps. Their desire was for simplicity and understated elegance. A reverse negative edge, flowing back toward the house is both visually enticing, and creates a pleasant babbling brook sound, as the water trickles down the stair- stepped Pennsylvania ledgestone face. The water flows into a hidden trough filled with Mexican beach pebble.

The Curved House is a modern residence with distinctive lines. Conceived in plan as a U-shaped form, this residence features a courtyard that allows for a private retreat to an outdoor pool and a custom fire pit. The master wing flanks one side of this central space while the living spaces, a pool cabana, and a view to an adjacent creek form the remainder of the perimeter.
A signature masonry wall gently curves in two places signifying both the primary entrance and the western wall of the pool cabana. An eclectic and vibrant material palette of brick, Spanish roof tile, Ipe, Western Red Cedar, and various interior finish tiles add to the dramatic expanse of the residence. The client’s interest in suitability is manifested in numerous locations, which include a photovoltaic array on the cabana roof, a geothermal system, radiant floor heating, and a design which provides natural daylighting and views in every room. Replace worn furnishings with stylish white, lime, and turquoise metal furniture, designed to fit the scale and proportion of the space with practical Sunbrella fabrics in bright lime, turquoise, and white, repeated in combinations of solids, stripes, and diamond patterns, used with wise restraint and adding textural contrast to rough masonry, and shiny stainless steel for a smashing new look. Reinvent grandmother’s table and chairs with turquoise paint, new diamond seat cushions, and Vetrazzo for a great counterpoint to new contemporary furnishings.

Courtyard style garden with exposed concrete and timber cabana. The swimming pool is tiled with a white sandstone, This courtyard garden design shows off a great mixture of materials and plant species. Courtyard gardens are one of our specialties. This Garden was designed by Michael Cooke Garden Design. Effective courtyard garden is about keeping the design of the courtyard simple. Small courtyard gardens such as this coastal garden in Clovelly are about keeping the design simple.
The swimming pool is tiled internally with a really dark mosaic tile which contrasts nicely with the sandstone coping around the pool.
The cabana is a cool mixture of free form concrete, Spotted Gum vertical slats and a lined ceiling roof. The flooring is also Spotted Gum to tie in with the slats.
