ID10 LECTURE 4 - LIGHTING
Task Lighting Targeted to a particular area of a room, task lighting is intended to illuminate a specific function in a particular area of a room. Some areas of a home that require task lighting include kitchen counters where food will be prepared; and home office desk surfaces where paperwork will be done.
Ambient Lighting Also known as general lighting, ambient lighting provides an overall uniform light throughout a space, independent of any special lighting that may be needed in targeted areas of a room. Ambient lighting can take many forms, including: ceiling-mounted or recessed fixtures; wall sconces or floor-lamp; cove, soffit or valence.
Natural Lighting Natural lighting is light from the sun. Depending on the time of day and time of year will have an effect on the color temperature on the space.
