Can I use this in our dining room?

I just bought this mirror and was hoping to use it in our dining room to replace what is already there. Do you think it's too narrow or does the height make it okay? Do you think this too heavy looking? Should I just keep what I have?Here is a pic of what we currently have (it's 50" wide and 38" tall) and this is the new one (it's 42" wide but is 71" tall). For those of you that have been following my posts, I ended up selling my chairs so am now on the hunt for something new.

Kommentare (9)Hey Alice, Yes I know, it's so hard to pick one as there are so many beautiful ones! Yes, I would definitely choose one that's shorter than the sideboard! You could go for something white and simple or something made out of the same wood as the table legs or something that matches the metallic thingy over the desk. I think I would choose a simply white one or a metallic one. Or you could also just put a picture ledge there and then put the artwork on it and maybe a nice candle or a small plant. Depending on the shelf and the size of the artwork, I would put the artwork on it :) Also you shouldn't hang it too high, it shouldn't lose look disconnected from the sideboard. I would say about as high as the grid over the desk but it also depends on the shelf. Kommentare (1)The pictures look amazing. How you orgnaized their room sounds great. I think creating a space for the little ones to play and grow is a very fun experience. In my opinion children sharing a room in their early years is a good thing. It can help creating a bound between the siblings. It might help encouraging good sibling relationships. We should also not forget that some families can't afford many rooms. Children in their early years always love to play. It is great if they have a room which they share. So their playing budy is always with them. Simple decor and minimum furnishings will create more space to play and make their room a safe place. In my Opinion the most important thing is that children see the world differently than adults. vor 9 JahrenHere's the picture from Pottery Barn. I also am using these goblet candle holders and three of the mercury glass trees from Gilt.com (great buys on these as well!). I'm going to use two dark plum throws for my "tablecloth" with plum napkins. My dishes are Moonspun by Lenox and all the decorations will be mercury glass, silver and gold (with Christmas greenery, of course) except for the plum "linens". I'm getting so excited I can't focus on Thanksgiving!
