Wall art help

I need some help picking out wall art for my open floor plan. This wall is in between our dining room /kitchen area. It is directly across from the main entrance from our mudroom. Originally I was thinking of adding kitchen wall art, but now am open to any ideas you may have. The walls are painted latte and I have a lot of cream throughout the two rooms. I would love to add color but a, afraid that it might look too busy. Please help...I am at a loss.

Kommentare (133)Ganz klar Wandfarbe! Denn damit kann man nicht nur den Raum gestalten, sondern auch das Wohnklima deutlich verbessern. Mein absoluter Favorit: Tonfarben! Die Farben, wie z.B. die von Emoton, sehen nicht nur toll aus und regulieren das Raumklima, sondern haben auch die wunderbare Fähigkeit, Giftstoffe aus der Raumluft zu binden. Kommentare (11)Vielen Dank für die Hinweise. Die Fliese habe ich mittlerweile ausgewählt, es wird die Steuler Kalmit in der Farbe Grafit, Fomat 120x60 bzw. 120x120. Ich habe noch eine Detailfrage zur Dusche. Angepasst ans Fliesenformat soll die Dusche 120 cm breit werden. Das Podest wird 150 cm lang sein, so dass die maximale Duschfläche 150x120 ist. Eigentlich wollte ich als Abtrennung nur eine feste 140 cm lange Glaswand zwischen Dusch- und Wannenbereich und das Gefälle direkt ab Podestkante bis hinten durchlaufen lassen, mit einer Duschrinne an der Rückwand und einem Edelstahlkeil als Höhenausgleich zur Glaswand bzw. zur Wandfliese. Nun habe ich die Befürchtung, dass es wegen des raumgreifenden Duschverhaltens anderer Familienmitglieder doch zu Überschwemmungen kommt und es ggfs. notwendig werden könnte, eine Duschtür nachzurüsten. Wenn ich richtig informiert bin, dann ist es jedoch nicht möglich, eine Duschabtrennung mit Tür im Gefällebereich zu montieren (die Abtrennung muss immer auf absolut ebenem Boden stehen). Eine Alternative wäre das Duschsystem baqua mit umlaufender Rinne. Diese hat ein integriertes Gefälle, so dass die Bodenfliesen komplett plan verlegt werden können. Hier könnte ich, wenn ich dem Fliesenformat folge, ein Maß von 120x120 wählen. Allerdings „verschenke“ ich dadurch 30 cm Ablauffläche - was das Überschwemmungsproblem verschärft. Eine Tür mit Anschlag gegen die 140 cm Glaswand vorzusetzen wäre dann zwar kein Problem, aber optisch wohl nicht sehr gelungen, wenn Rinnenfuge und Tür nicht übereinstimmen. Und wenn ich die Rinne auf 120x140 plane, bin ich mit der Rinnenfuge aus dem Fliesenraster raus. Ich hoffe, ich konnte mich verständlich ausdrücken und es findet sich jemand unter den Profis, der mir in dieser Frage weiterhelfen und mir den Weg zur besten Lösung weisen kann....mehrlinlac
vor 8 JahrenI agree that the console needs to be moved over with art or mirror above. Unfortunately with the vent in that location you would need a console that's open on the bottom. Is there another spot you can use that piece? If not I would look for a vertical piece of art or a stacked set of 2-3. If you don't want color keep it neutral. Look for a soft abstract that blends your surrounding colors.

vor 8 JahrenUnfortunately that side of the wall is not long enough. It would also be covering a vent:(. Here is another pic that has grown on me. I know the colors aren't an exact match. I think it might add a contemporary touch to a traditional house.

vor 8 JahrenHere are more pics. There was a design problem with our house that was to late to fix. Our architect added a wide beam across the center of our house, so we covered it with wood moulding. Unfortunately it adds a heavy look to our house and makes it look more traditional than we wanted:(.

I added your cow to the pic (not sure what size) and I added one of my abstracts. One of the things we artists are taught is that when a painting something it is not always the focal point. Often it is supposed to blend into the surroundings. Of course nobody can suggest what works for you specifically. If you are looking for an abstract feel free to check out my profile.

vor 8 JahrenOkay, so do you think it would flow if I add the following wall plaque on the portion of the wall above the entry to the Living room? It is not in the same color family as the cow pic. I could always find something different.
