This little area is a bit redundant after I got rid of my lazy spa (what a faff they are!!).
Anyone got any ideas? Maybe pave it and paint the walls cream and attach lights and plants to the walls? Maybe a table and chairs for a eating area?
I'd like it to fit in with the rest of the area too (last photo). Thoughts please!!

Kommentare (171)Da ich mit meiner Familie im Ruhrgebiet am Hang lebe, haben wir die Terrasse und die Trockenmauern aus heimischem Ruhrsandstein erbauen lassen, um den regionalen Bezug herzustellen. Die Hänge wurden mit Kalksplitt belegt, sodass auch mediterrane Pflanzen hier gut in der Sonne wachsen. Die Stufenanlage zieht den Betrachter auf die nächst höher "Ebene, die von einer Lavendelhecke (Lavandula angustifolia "Grappenhull") umgeben ist und für die Kinder zum Spielen angelegt wurde. Oberhalb befindet sich ein Englisches Mixt-border aus Strauchrosen und Stauden....mehrLime grüne couch dilemma!!! Couch bemalen???
Kommentare (35)Auch wenn dieser Thread schon älter ist...bleibt es immer ein aktuelles Thema. Kalkfarben von den gängigen Herstellern (F&B, Painting the Past, Annie Sloan, Little Greene) eignen sich in der Tat sehr gut um Stoffe zu streichen. Ich habe dies bereits mehrfach gemacht. Hierbei ist es wichtig, dass man die Farbe verdünnt und in vielen einzelnen Schichten aufträgt. Das Möbelpolster wird sehr nass und daher sollte man diese Arbeit an schönen Sommertagen im Freien machen. Um zu verhindern, dass der Stoff brettig wird sind die vielen Schichten dünner Farbe mit sehr guter Zwischentrocknung notwendig. Ein weiteres Problem ist die Oberflächenversiegelung durch die aufgetragenen Pigmente. Also wenn man zu dick pinselt oder rollt trocknet die Oberfläche zwar gut ab und der einzelne Anstrich bringt mehr Farbauftrag aber die Polsterung im Inneren kann schimmeln (je nach Posteraufbau), weil die tiefer liegende Feuchtigkeit nicht abtrocknen kann. Zu dick aufgetragene Farbe bedeutet auch Rissbildung durch Bewegung (beim Setzen). Hier ist also wirklich Geduld gefragt, je mehr Schichten mit guter Zwischentrocknung desto besser das Ergebnis. Ich streiche im Schnitt 10 Schichten und lasse das Möbel vor dem Versiegeln noch 2 Wochen durchtrocknen. Somit braucht das Möbel gute drei Wochen bis Fertigstellung. Zu guter Letzt immer ein Wachs aufbringen um die Farbflächen zu versiegeln. Dann entsteht der besagte Ledercharakter. Hier kann man wunderbar mit Kalkwachsen spielen. Diesen sind Pigmente zugefügt und z.B. ein hellerer Sessel erhält mit Taupewachs die Optik stark gealterten und leicht abgeranzten Leders. Überaus charmant :-) Auch alte stoffummantelte Lampenschirme lassen sich hervorragend mit Kalkfarbe verändern. Hier ist wichtig, dass der Schirm selbst danach kein Licht mehr durchlässt. Ich veredele das Innere der Lampenschirme mit Gold oder Silber, gerne mit Schlagmetall. Dann sehen die Schirme sehr edel aus. Hier ein Beispiel eines alten Ikea Lampenschirms, der auf Grund vieler Flecken fast schon im Müll war. vor 7 JahrenI can't find any good pics but something kind of along these lines minus the herons. I would also lose the fretwork idea although i think framing the water garden in some way would make a nice feature. Does the area get any sun re table and chairs or do you prefer eating in the shade?
