What wall & curtain colors to go with orange rug?

I have a small living room and I am changing the decor. I am getting a chocolate brown recliner sofa which will be in place of my current sofa. I'm getting rid of the love seat and replacing it with 2 pedestal chairs in medium orange. And I got a new thick rug in orange rust color. For your reference, I am attaching a few pics with similar colors of the products I am getting, the sofa, orange rug & orange chairs.

I have also attached my living room's actual picture here. I plan to color the wall behind my TV unit (which is right opposite to the sofa). And I want to get curtains on the window between the sofa wall & TV wall. Please see the picture for reference. I was planning Orange curtains & Dark Brown wall color behind the TV . But I am not sure what looks good and if I am using too much orange in the living area or too much brown by painting the wall right opposite the brown sofa.

Please suggest.

All of your reference pictures show lighter color walls. With your furniture choices, it appears you want a modern look. Modern styles usually dictate cleaner lines and crisp color contrasts. With that in mind, I would suggest you consider a light lime yellow (similar to pic 2) for the walls with curtains that have a similar color - either solid or print. Especially in a small room, the dark walls can become heavy and oppressive. I think you probably have enough orange with the chairs and the rugs.

I so agree with mpg. A light crisp lime color would be bright enough to lighten the space. Orange and chocolate brown are pretty dense colors and it seems you have enough going on there. Window treatments are a great way to tie in colors and mid century modern is so hot right now you can find some great fabrics to do just that.
P.s. I used orange in my living room and you can't be unhappy in a room like that!

I'd suggest a neutral, rather "grown-up" style as a basis and childlike, cute little details to create a room appropriate to your daughter's age. How about a grayish or brownish wall color, like Farrow & Ball's Mouse's Back or Light Gray? Golden Polka dots could be easily applied and removed when you choose wall stickers (https://www.houzz.com/products/vinyl-wall-sticker-decal-art-polka-dots-by-urban-walls-set-of-50-prvw-vr~4971601). They add a cute yet modern and stylish touch. I love this idea! Go for white curtains in case you paint your walls. I personally love the haptic of nya nordiska's LIMA, it's made of wool (http://www.nya.com/de/product/lima). In case of white walls, go for a rather striking curtain. nya nordiska even offers a transparent material with little golden dots (http://www.nya.com/de/product/puntilla-cs)! Now that you have the basis, add colorful details to the room. A striking carpet, a floor lamp, toys... They look great in grayish surroundings but can be changed any time. Hi Nicola, thank you so so much. Its just so nice. So pretty. The good thing is its not a mind bender. I was already thinking something on the lines. But the elements had to fit together. And now it looks they do. What I had not thought at all is the upholstery thing. It’s so nice. Even if I cannot do uphostry , I have gotten the idea now. I would somehow make the back of shelves and the heastbound side of bed same or coordinated, in order to make it kind of cozy niche corner as you have nicely put it. For shelves I was thinking to use a single piece or may a two pieces of 4x4 shelves like IKEA Kalax to creat a kind of partition of about 120 cm As I said I was thinking of similar things but as it comes from an expert I feel very happy. One more thing. For the colors would you recommend the ones I see already in the Sketsch??? Secondly, for the floor in the second / Upper room i was thinking of using small rugs in different colors witha kind of collage ( the pupose being easy maintainece, as a bigger carpet has to be send for professional carpet cleaners or need carpet cleaning machine). Small rugs if one is spoiled is easier to replace , which not easy in case of a bigger one that is wall to wall and heavy. Small rugs are easy to clean an rearrange. Of course under that I can add a light floor matt under these rugs to hold them together.( In both cases what colors , should be good. I mean if I add one piece carpet that would be almost half of the room, which colors should I take) or do you think it will make the rather smaller place look too busy and I should go for a full size carpet? Hey, i will go for black and white furniture. In every room, i will choose different colors for decoration (vases, paintings, pillows etc. ). For example livingroom with purple decoration, bedroom with turquoise decoration etc. I love special items such as mosaic tables ( for example https://www.lionshome.at/moebel-gartentische/mosaik/ ) in homes. In Asien countries one often finds furniture with a lot of chrachter in homes. I think they build the depth of a home. Furthermore, plants are amazing! I think they will bring a lot of positivity in your home.

Thank you for your suggestions. I like the idea on adding a third color to the contrast but I have one problem. If you see the actual pic of my living room (dark one), I already have cream color on my walls and I will only be coloring the wall behind TV. That's where I am confused if lime yellow on one wall will go well with other cream walls? And then how well the curtains go, since the window wall is still cream in color?

Please do suggest.

Personally, I'd paint all the walls the same color and get curtains in a similar color with a crisp print.

I have the same colors in my living room and kitchen. More of a burnt orange. I have paired it with amethyst and purples. It's fantastic! I get lots of complements.
