All of this is compounded by the fact that the shape of the glass prevents nearly anything from being fully retracted.
In other words, most owners of fully glazed gables are faced with the very real prospect of having to permanently cover the shaped area of their glass because they cannot find a solution that meets all of their shading and insulation needs, but which can completely retract.
