“Melissa designed a kitchen and vertical addition to my 1820 brick one-room schoolhouse in Vermont. She was super thoughtful to find ways to preserve the original timber framing of the roof while maximizing the interior space for storage, second bedroom and office. The kitchen is almost finished and is a dream to work in. I haven't done the tower/dormer construction yet, but I dream about it daily!”

“We had never worked with architects and designers nor had we been through this type of home renovation project. We asked Brown and Davis to explain the process to us and help us understand exactly how it would work. They exceeded our expectations in that regard from introduction to construction finish. The design that they came up with took 100% of our functional needs and aesthetic direction into consideration and turned it into a modern, practical and livable space that we never could have imagined on our own. We couldn't be happier with our home and look forward to renovating a few more spaces in our home in the future with the Brown & Davis team.”

“My wife and I had a great experience working with 154 Design. We wanted to add a garage and office to our home. The designer, Andy Greenberg, listened to our ideas and was amazingly patient as he worked through several design options and revisions with us until we found the right balance of function, aesthetics and cost. Our house was a bit of challenge to add on to and the architecture that 154 Design created for us greatly improves the aesthetics of our home. Andy worked with our contractor and found ways to change the design so the project would fit into our budget but still met all our goals. Our contractor noted that the architectural plans where clear, concise and easy from which to estimate and helped him complete our project. Aside from the floor plans, elevations views, sections, details, etc. that were drawn, we were also provided renderings of the addition that really helped us understand the design. I highly recommend 154 Design!”

We ended up with a design for our well-loved house where we have lived for many years and raised our family.”

“I was the client for the Sugarbush house, and Rob Bast was the architect for a restoration and redesign. He understood my apprehension to the genre of the house, but also understood my desire to honor the original silhouette of the house. He also worked with the contractor to guide him through the unusual structural demands of a house that is suspended above the ground. I love this house, and it is completely experiential. Each and every room reveals the environment in a unique way. Even though it looks cosmopolitan, it is an experience of living in and among the trees and the treetops. I have dubbed the Master Bedroom the Val-Aerie. Rob is gifted in his ability to visualize the structure without, and it's experience from within. His help extended from the structural needs of the roof (which only appears flat), to the layout of the tiles which draw you into the space. From the big concepts to the small details, it was wonderful attention and care.”

“Doug Viehmann designed our Adirondack style house on Lake Champlain a number of years ago. Doug was very pleasant to deal with. He was soothing during the high stress times of construction and was very practical with his ideas. Change always occurs with a custom design and Doug responded quickly to our ideas. We felt that we worked very well together with Doug. We have kept in communication over the years since our project was completed about the house and other architectural issues and Doug has always been there to provide his insight and opinion. We would highly recommend him for residential design.”

“Donna Leban transformed my office space from a dimly lit basement, hampered by low-hanging ductwork, finished with sheetrock, into an appealing room without shadows or floor and table lights. The heating ductwork in our new house takes up half of the ceiling space in the basement, where I have my home office, piano, and library. I had resorted to supplementing the minimal ceiling fixtures with a couple of floor and table lamps to provide adequate lighting. Donna quickly assessed my needs and applied her extensive design experience to craft an imaginative plan. She ordered special ceiling lights and wiring boxes to fit into the narrow spaces alongside the covered ductwork with minimal room to spare. The installation went smoothly and quickly. The result is uniform light throughout my workspace and better lighting for reading music at my piano. Well done. William Harwood South Burlington”
