Using space in bathroom better

We have a fairly good sized bathroom, which currently has both a bath and a corner shower in it. I don't think we can do much with the configuration due to where the soil pipe is.

We really would like a new suite, keeping the separate bath and shower, but we want to make the bathroom look more interesting and use the space better.

We were thinking of a freestanding bath (modern, not Victorian), maybe a smaller sink or a basin that sits on top of a unit?

We just need storage somehow and make the space look more interesting.

Would love to hear your suggestions and ideas

I would get a P shaped bath and where the current basin and shower are fit a huge vanity

I would hang a large textile such as Moroccan bedspread, sheer drapery, or other fabric that you feel enhances meditation on the wall. This will also absorb sound and make the area quieter. Paint the walls of ONLY the meditation space to create a visual area for the activity, even though the stairs have open risers and there is no door.

Hi Nicola, thank you so so much. Its just so nice. So pretty. The good thing is its not a mind bender. I was already thinking something on the lines. But the elements had to fit together. And now it looks they do. What I had not thought at all is the upholstery thing. It’s so nice. Even if I cannot do uphostry , I have gotten the idea now. I would somehow make the back of shelves and the heastbound side of bed same or coordinated, in order to make it kind of cozy niche corner as you have nicely put it. For shelves I was thinking to use a single piece or may a two pieces of 4x4 shelves like IKEA Kalax to creat a kind of partition of about 120 cm As I said I was thinking of similar things but as it comes from an expert I feel very happy. One more thing. For the colors would you recommend the ones I see already in the Sketsch??? Secondly, for the floor in the second / Upper room i was thinking of using small rugs in different colors witha kind of collage ( the pupose being easy maintainece, as a bigger carpet has to be send for professional carpet cleaners or need carpet cleaning machine). Small rugs if one is spoiled is easier to replace , which not easy in case of a bigger one that is wall to wall and heavy. Small rugs are easy to clean an rearrange. Of course under that I can add a light floor matt under these rugs to hold them together.( In both cases what colors , should be good. I mean if I add one piece carpet that would be almost half of the room, which colors should I take) or do you think it will make the rather smaller place look too busy and I should go for a full size carpet? I think the dust reason is bogus. It's just that electricians, like most people and especially workmen, are used to doing things a certain way. "Das haben wir schon immer so gemacht" ("we always did it this way") is a line you hear often. All countries have their oddities. Right now I am dealing with British workmen in Spain who have their own and sometimes rather strange methods. But I think that those peculiarities are part of the fun of living in a foreign country, no? If I wanted things to be the way I am used to, I'd have to move back to Germany.

Hallo, ein paar Parameter sind noch unklar: Darf erweitert werden und wenn ja, wie weit? Soll der ehemalige Terrassenbereich eingehaust und in die warme Hülle integriert werden? Meine Version: Küchenachse trennt den Wohnbreich vom Schlafbereich mit 2 Kajüten. Terrasse bleibt Aussenbereich, ist im Sommer aber das erweiterte Wohnzimmer. WC und Dusche werden getrennt. Faltschiebewand zur Terrasse. Kajüte 1 als Erweiterung der warmen Hülle. Bei Interesse für eine Vertiefung, können Sie sich gerne bei mir melden. Hi. What is the width of the bathroom? If wide enough, you could have something like this. It would obviously mean extending the soil pipe though.. Alternatively, if there's room, consider a wall hung loo with recessed shelves for storage. you could have shelves all the way across or combine with a mirror. If shelving all the way across consider a wall to wall mirror on the empty ŵall

Hi i think wall mounted sink and toilet are a good start. Also have any pipe work put under the floorboards as boxing in never really works and just collects dust. Your waste pipe can be moved but ask a plumber first. A new window with a single top opening will let in more light. And a mirror filling the whole wall above the sink between the shower and window will make your bathroom feel more spacious. And as always with bathrooms keep it simple
