Georgian Kitchen Design
Artichoke was commissioned to design a kitchen for a classically Georgian country house in Cheshire.
The original space provided for the kitchen was open plan (see above) which our designers felt was inappropriate based in the client's circumstances and the architecture of the house.
Our first task was to re-introduce architecture to the space to make sense of the room and to ensure the kitchen was practical for modern family use.
A wall of architectural joinery was added to divide the space, and glazed top cabinets were introduced above the sink to ensure daylight can still flood from the living room into the kitchen space.
The island was designed as a cook's table to increase the feeling of light and to create a link between the furniture and the properties architectural past.
The returning walls were thickened up to allow us the panel the reveals as they would have been in the mind 1800's. This also allowed us to inset the fridge and larder into the wall.
Glazed architectural joinery was designed by us alongside much of the rest of the interior architecture of the house. The example below was aged by Artichoke's specialist finishers.

Kommentare (17)bin tischlereitechnikerin,.... :-) die Messerblöcke sind einfache Massivholzteile, die mit der Kreissäge einen Schnitt bekommen haben, und das Gewürzteil besteht aus drei Sperrholzplatten, zwei für unten links und rechts, eines mit den Löchern oben drüber, mit einem Dosenbohrer Löcher gebohrt, anschließend alles gut geschliffen und geölt - so wie der Rest meiner Küche :-)...mehrHilfe bei Küchengrundriss
Kommentare (198)So, SpüMa ist eingetrudelt und schon eingebaut. XXL-Größe und extra-leise. Ich habe die Lücke links neben der SpüMa mal mit einem schmalen, angepassten Korpus gefüllt. Da passt prima der für die oberen Schränke benötigte Tritt rein. Dann meinte meine Frau letzte Woche es wäre prima wenn an dem Ende der Arbeitsfläche noch eine Steckdose wäre - das habe ich dann gleich mal umgesetzt. :-)...mehrWhat colour/fabric for soft furnishings
Kommentare (19)Hi Ella, first of all, let me say that you have some really nice vintage pieces in your home! If you are planning to keep the light grey rug I would go with a darker shade of grey for the daybed and a lighter shade or a completely different color for the fabric of the sidechair (e.g. like the dark blue in your third photo) in order to create more contrast and give the room a more dynamic feel. You also mentioned a portrait to be hung above the sideboard - maybe the colors of this picture can aslo inspire the fabrics, it's always nice if the same color pops up in different details of a room. Kommentare (0)Hi again, I am about to make a construction work. I am planning to buy new kitchen. The idea is remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room. I am thinking about new kitchen with island. I will appreciate for kitchen arrangement. As well we are planning to add additional toilette in bathroom, I want to add some more space and shift the living room entrance to kitchen direction. As well I am missing a cloth closet at entrance and no place to add it. I am attaching my plan for kitchen, living room and the dining room, but want to add some storage in kitchen. If you have better ideas for living room design/kitchen/dinning room it would be perfect. original plan without bedrooms. My design...mehr
