help with mudroom storage
Our new house has this beautiful mudroom area but I am at a loss as to what to do with it. I was able to find baskets that fit the bottom cubby areas, but I cannot for the life of me find baskets that fit in the top compartments. (20 in wide x 12 tall x 10.5 deep). I would love to use this area for storing all of the games that you see in the baskets up top, but I don’t like the idea of the games exposed so I’d rather put them in baskets or have some thing that covers that area to give it a cleaner look. Any ideas?

Kommentare (11)Hi Ella, wow, that looks like a real challenge... The really low "Kniestock" together with your size doesn´t work well. I think you need to move the kitchen pretty far into the room to be able to properly move around and operate the kitchen. For instance if you imagine standing in front of the sink - if i read the floorplan correctly, if you move just a little bit to the right, you´ll bump your head into the angled wall. In addition, the whole area below the angled wall is actually not usable for a worktop area, because it´s just too low. Even if you place storage room there, it´s not really comfortable to reach. Can you add some more picture of the rest of the room? I think you need a complete layout including dining area and living room area and not only focus on the kitchen. Kommentare (1)The pictures look amazing. How you orgnaized their room sounds great. I think creating a space for the little ones to play and grow is a very fun experience. In my opinion children sharing a room in their early years is a good thing. It can help creating a bound between the siblings. It might help encouraging good sibling relationships. We should also not forget that some families can't afford many rooms. Children in their early years always love to play. It is great if they have a room which they share. So their playing budy is always with them. Simple decor and minimum furnishings will create more space to play and make their room a safe place. In my Opinion the most important thing is that children see the world differently than adults. Your room will feel so much more spacious and bright because you'll also get the light from the window when you sit at the dining table. Kitchen island is a perfect idea – it creates a lot of extra storage and is ideal for a communicative kitchen/dining situation (no divider between kitchen and dining area). With various shelves and built-in cabinets you can create even more storage room. Living in a space before making any changes is a wise decision – as long as it comes to furniture.
