Studio DearbornA hip young family moving from Boston tackled an enormous makeover of an antique colonial revival home in downtown Larchmont. The kitchen area was quite spacious but benefitted from a small bump out for a banquette and additional windows. Navy blue island and tall cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Van Deusen blue is balanced by crisp white (Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace) cabinetry on the perimeter. The mid-century inspired suspended fireplace adds warmth and style to the kitchen. A tile covered range hood blends the ventilation into the walls. Brushed brass hardware by Lewis Dolan in a contemporary T-bar shape offer clean lines in a warm metallic tone.
White Marble countertops on the perimeter are balanced by white quartz composite on the island. Kitchen design and custom cabinetry by Studio Dearborn. Countertops by Rye Marble. StoneUnlimited Kitchen and Bath RemodelingWhen designing this beautiful kitchen, we knew that our client’s favorite color was blue. Upon entering the home, it was easy to see that great care had been taken to incorporate the color blue throughout. So, when our Designer Sherry knew that our client wanted an island, she jumped at the opportunity to add a pop of color to their kitchen.
Having a kitchen island can be a great opportunity to showcase an accent color that you love or serve as a way to showcase your style and personality. Our client chose a bold saturated blue which draws the eye into the kitchen. Shadow Storm Marble countertops, 3x6 Bianco Polished Marble backsplash and Waypoint Painted Linen floor to ceiling cabinets brighten up the space and add contrast. Arabescato Carrara Herringbone Marble was used to add a design element above the range.
The major renovations performed on this kitchen included:
A peninsula work top and a small island in the middle of the room for the range was removed. A set of double ovens were also removed in order for the range to be moved against the wall to allow the middle of the kitchen to open up for the installment of the large island. Placing the island parallel to the sink, opened up the kitchen to the family room and made it more inviting.

We couldn't change the windows in this project due to exterior restrictions but the fix was clear.
We transformed the entire space of the kitchen and adjoining grand family room space by removing the dark cabinetry and painting over all the mahogany millwork in the entire space. The adjoining family walls with a trapezoidal vaulted ceiling needed some definition to ground the room. We added painted paneled walls 2/3rds of the way up to entire family room perimeter and reworked the entire fireplace wall with new surround, new stone and custom cabinetry around it with room for an 85" TV.
The end wall in the family room had floor to ceiling gorgeous windows and Millowrk details. Once everything installed, painted and furnished the entire space became connected and cohesive as the central living area in the home.

Nystrom DesignBalancing modern architectural elements with traditional Edwardian features was a key component of the complete renovation of this San Francisco residence. All new finishes were selected to brighten and enliven the spaces, and the home was filled with a mix of furnishings that convey a modern twist on traditional elements. The re-imagined layout of the home supports activities that range from a cozy family game night to al fresco entertaining.

Rencraft LtdRencraft are proud to present this bespoke kitchen design which offers a contemporary take on coastal style.
Coastal styling is usually defined by the use of natural textures such as driftwood combined with coastal colour schemes that typically feature sea greens, sky blues and plenty of sun-bleached whites.
This recent Rencraft install offers a contemporary spin on the seaside inspired trend.
Starting with the colour scheme, the room brings together two different shades of blue. The delicate sky blue hue used on the hand-painted cabinets around the edge of the room is evocative of clear blue skies and bright summer days, while the darker green blue shade used on the island gives a hint of the ocean.
There is a nod to nature with the inclusion of the textured Smoked Oak door panels which surround the Miele oven stack, and these are complemented with the custom made ‘ripple textured’ hammered bar handles which also add a ‘watery’ feel.
The bright white Dekton worktop with waterfall edge further continues this theme.
AmberthThis basement kitchen is bright and inviting due to the generous amount of natural light flooding the space and the curved open shelving units that aesthetically leads you from one space to another. A white Corian work top wraps around grey silk finished lacquered draws creating a contemporary feel.
