“We hired Gulfield Contracting to repair several rooms in our home. The house had multiple areas that needed repair to the ceiling and walls. We had a plumbing issue that required cutting holes in our living room, bathroom and bedroom. Gulfield Contracting came to our rescue!! They did an outstanding job! The quality of their work was exceptional. They were extremely careful not to get the spackling or sanding dust on our existing carpet. I wish I had taken pictures of before and after the repairs because when they finished the job you would not know that our walls were torn apart!! I would highly recommend them.”

“Completely renovated our log cabin. They came in and demo'd it. Removing the drop down ceiling, making the whole log cabin 1 big gathering room (the lodge) with cathedral ceiling. They moved the stairs leading to unfinished basement (now finished), replaced all the windows in the log cabin, new ash flooring, new kitchen cupboards,added kitchen island, and countertops, notched out logs to fit new appliances. Also finished basement with new bedroom, laundry room, family room, bathroom and my favorite, "a craft room" from what used to be a "cluttered hall". Also added slider walk out door to patio area and outside shower. “Major renovations at our second home in Brandon, VT. Required complete redesign and reconstruction of the space on the first floor with partial redesign of the second floor with new bathroom added. It was a pleasure to work with Cliff and his crew of Three Oaks Construction and the several sub-contractors that he brought in for various specialized tasks that were part of this major renovation project. Every individual, whether directly on Cliff’s team or part of a sub-contractor’s team, was someone who took pride in their workmanship in every detail that was part of this project and it was obvious to us as we progressed. Even though the renovation was designed with blue-prints supplied by the designer, we got numerous suggestions for alternate approaches from Cliff and his team as the project progressed. Several of these ideas made the alteration have better utility or looks or both. Being in a situation where we had time since we did not have a hard deadline when we were planning on moving into the space, we were able to consider and assess several of the alternatives and act upon the ones we saw most suitable for us. Overall, it was a great experience working with a crew of people who were always pleasant to work with and ready to listen to suggestions and/or questions that arose as the renovations progressed. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Cliff and his entire crew for any construction or carpentry work.”

“It was a pleasure working with Warren Uzzle who completed a front porch project on my home in Warren, VT. When I initially spoke with Warren about my project, he told me that he would be down that afternoon - and he arrived early. I provided Warren with an overview of the issues (that he also saw). He asked a number of questions, and then proceeded to describe possible options to rectify the problems. Warren brought along a photo album of projects he had worked on over the years from building entire homes to smaller home projects. We have hired HJL twice, once in 2008 for a major renovation, and again in 2015 for a smaller project consisting of a balcony, a trellis, and some deck railings. Norm has a gift for seeing the potential of a space and coming up with creative approaches that we never would have come up with on our own. Our 1980s era house has been transformed into a beautiful and unconventional contemporary home that is warm and efficient but gives a feeling of being connected to the natural surroundings from anywhere indoors. “We have employed CDN for 2 renovations on our VT ski condo. The first was after we purchased and involved a large scale reno. The second was smaller but required Carm to take over a job that was initially started by another contractor (CDN was not available initially). This contractor was a nightmare. For both jobs, Carm was the ultimate professional. He helped in planning and design, asking the right questions and providing great insight. His work was meticulous and detailed, with great communication throughout each project. He even helped me move the furniture! He was on time and was respectful of our needs and wishes. “Ours is primarily a DIY project – a timber-framed, strawbale-wrapped house with external stud walls containing dense-packed cellulose insulation and (eventually) clapboard siding. We greatly benefited from consulting with New Frameworks Natural Design Build starting early in our design/planning process. Co-owner Jacob Deva Racussin, is very knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and outstanding teacher, who met with us several times and provided very useful feedback and suggestions, as well as instructions and sources for specialized construction supplies. He visited our project site several times, and taught us (and friends) how to shape and build with the bales. We also hired a New Frameworks crew, including co-owner Ace McArleton, to apply the base coat of plaster on the interior straw-bale walls. They were wonderful - very hardworking, plus enjoyable to work with! We very much appreciate everyone’s flexibility in working with us through our long, complicated and somewhat chaotic process. We think the world of all the New Frameworks Natural Design Build people and highly recommend them!”
