Living room decor help

Hi, I'm looking for some help pulling together my living room! It's looking a bit bland at the moment. I'd like to keep the room as light as possible but I have to keep the sofas. (though we are hoping to change the armchair!) I'd also like to introduce some pops of colour - green and yellow, some plants, maybe a rug and/or coffee table, maybe narrow sofa tables (bespoke) behind the two sofas, softer lighting and some large art/photos. My problem is that I'm just not sure where to start!!!
So my questions!!
As the two sofas aren't matching sizes, will a large rug just emphasise the lack of symmetry?
Would sofa tables be a good idea? Any do or don't on these types of tables?
Will a coffee table be lost in the room given the distance between the sofas?
I'd wanted to replace the armchair with a replica eames lounge chair and ottoman but my husband didn't find it comfortable. Any suggestions for alternatives?
Keen to get any suggestions or advice on layout, furniture or how to pull the room together whole still keeping it light and bright!

Kommentare (1)Hi yoursra dodo, a lot of children love yellow. Yellow with a red pigment makes a room friendly and cosy. And when it is dark, rainy and grey outside, yellow cheers you up. if you select the colour, hold the sample next to the door, the floor and the blue "sky" above the bed. Dein Blau ist schon ziemlich lebendig und Dein Raum muss dann auch sicherlich 40 qm mindestens haben ??? Hier einmal 2 links mit Ideen, vielleicht findest du ein paar Anregungen.... Vileleicht würde ich tiefens dunkles Blau dazumischen und Koralle, wie schon erwähnt. Kommentare (9)Hey Alice, Yes I know, it's so hard to pick one as there are so many beautiful ones! Yes, I would definitely choose one that's shorter than the sideboard! You could go for something white and simple or something made out of the same wood as the table legs or something that matches the metallic thingy over the desk. I think I would choose a simply white one or a metallic one. Or you could also just put a picture ledge there and then put the artwork on it and maybe a nice candle or a small plant. Depending on the shelf and the size of the artwork, I would put the artwork on it :) Also you shouldn't hang it too high, it shouldn't lose look disconnected from the sideboard. I would say about as high as the grid over the desk but it also depends on the shelf. Kommentare (1)The pictures look amazing. How you orgnaized their room sounds great. I think creating a space for the little ones to play and grow is a very fun experience. In my opinion children sharing a room in their early years is a good thing. It can help creating a bound between the siblings. It might help encouraging good sibling relationships. We should also not forget that some families can't afford many rooms. Children in their early years always love to play. It is great if they have a room which they share. So their playing budy is always with them. Simple decor and minimum furnishings will create more space to play and make their room a safe place. I think orgnazing family toys in dressers https://www.lionshome.at/moebel-kommoden/landhausstil/ is great. It is a simple way to create enough storage room and it provides plenty of open floor space. In my Opinion the most important thing is that children see the world differently than adults. So it is important to infuse imagination and magic into their room designing....mehr

vor 6 JahrenIt looks like your lounge may face north? North facing rooms can easily appear colder because of the light. I would recommend you pick a neutral colour with a warmer tone to compensate for the colder light. You have a lovely outlook outside the window, I would rearrange the seating so you take advantage of this, pulling the sofas forward so you can walk around the seating, creating a more cosy seating area. Then reposition to tv if needed. I would then choose either a colourful rug or artwork and then pick out some of the colours in these to select cushion colours, lampshades and curtains. I am not sure you need to replace the armchair but if you want to do this, you can always choose a chair in a colour that you could then also accessorise with, such as this picture:

vor 6 JahrenLike Carolina's idea - definitely a good idea to move the sofas away from the wall, giving more balance and allowing space for other items of furniture. A coffee table in the centre of the room would help - possibly something like the one below in a rich, warm wood finish to complement the sofas. A long, low media unit for the TV could match.
