Backsplash - Just Do It!!
As an intermediate DIYer, I had no fear in gutting our kitchen and hanging cabinets. What did scare me? The backsplash! I had never done one before. I watched a lot of YouTube videos, talked with friends and box store "experts", but even after the cabinets and counter were installed, I procrastinated on installing the backsplash. After a lot of pre-planning, I jumped in with both feet. Using the Rigid LevelMax Lippage Reduction System, I was amazed how quickly and easily the tile went up. The next day, I removed the Rigid system and mixed my grout. I know according to the instructions and videos what the consistency of the grout should be but I still was holding my breath as I started to spread it across the tile. It was a little "messy" for me but I had protected the new quartz countertops and face of the base cabinets. After about a week, I sealed the grout. All I can say is that if you are like I was, don't fear the backsplash. I think it turned out beautiful.

Kommentare (10)Hi Ginger, what a lovely view into your garden! - totally agree with to get those yellow curtains out asap...well when it comes to those good old shutter straps (yeah so German!) and how to make them disappear there are mainly two solutions to go: motorist them or take them off. Hiding them with a moulding might admit another solution - but possibly not the most nice looking result I guess... Kommentare (3)I think the dust reason is bogus. It's just that electricians, like most people and especially workmen, are used to doing things a certain way. "Das haben wir schon immer so gemacht" ("we always did it this way") is a line you hear often. All countries have their oddities. Right now I am dealing with British workmen in Spain who have their own and sometimes rather strange methods. But I think that those peculiarities are part of the fun of living in a foreign country, no? If I wanted things to be the way I am used to, I'd have to move back to Germany....mehrFrage an die Experten
Kommentare (5)Was ich über Fratelli Reguitti herausgefunden habe ist, daß es wohl sehr zeitgenössisches Massendesign in den 50-80er Jahren war. Gehandelt werden heute insbesondere Naturholz-Kleinmöbel der Firma zu moderaten Preisen. Ein einzelner, weiß lackierter Stuhl der Gartenserie wird heute von Experten auf 150-200 € geschätzt, sofern der Zustand nahezu tadellos ist. Vermutlich dürfte ein Tisch bei 300-4000 liegen, wenn ich derzeitige Preise von angebotenen Gartenmöbel-Gruppen der Firma anschaue. Ich bin ganz sicher kein Experte auf diesem Gebiet, aber ich war neugierig und hab etwas recherchiert. Ihr Tisch ist definitiv an der Zeit aufgearbeitet zu werden, und die Substanz in Design und Fertigung spricht dafür es zu tun. Mit der Aufarbeitung wird es sowieso kein Original mehr sein, so daß letztlich die neue Farbe egal sein wird, wenn es um die Betrachtung des den monetären Wertes geht. In erster Linie geht es aber weniger um den montären, als um den ideellen Wert. Und da Sie bereit sind, den Tisch aufarbeiten zu lassen, scheint dieser gegeben zu sein. Die Idee der neuen Farbkombination ist kein Hingucker, aber auch kein Frevel, und passend für ein Gartenmöbel. Aber das wäre er in klassisch weiß (wie die meisten der Gartenmöbel der Firma) auch. Your room will feel so much more spacious and bright because you'll also get the light from the window when you sit at the dining table. Kitchen island is a perfect idea – it creates a lot of extra storage and is ideal for a communicative kitchen/dining situation (no divider between kitchen and dining area). With various shelves and built-in cabinets you can create even more storage room. Living in a space before making any changes is a wise decision – as long as it comes to furniture.
