In 2008 an extension was added to this small country home thus allowing the clients to redesign the main floor with a larger master suite, housing a separate vanity, and a bathroom filled with technology, elegance and luxury. Although the existing space was acceptable, it did not reflect the charismatic character of the clients, and lacked breathing space. By borrowing the ineffective space from their existing “entrance court” and removing all closets thus permitting for a private space to accommodate a large vanity with Jack and Jill sinks, a separate bathroom area housing a deep sculptural tub with air massage and hydrotherapy combination, set in a perfect symmetrical fashion to allow the beautiful views of the outdoor landscape, a thin 30” LCD TV, and incorporating a large niche wall for artful accessories and spa products, as well as a private entrance to the large well organized dressing room with a make-up counter. A peaceful, elegant yet highly functional on-suite was created by this young couple’s dream of having a contemporary hotel chic palette inspired by their travels in Paris. Using the classic black and white color combination, a touch of glam, the warm natural color of cherry wood and the technology and innovation brought this retreat to a new level of relaxation. CLIENTS NEEDS Better flow, Space to blend with surrounding open area – yet still have a “wow effect” Create more organized and functional storage and take in consideration client’s mobility handicap. A large shower, an elongated tall boy toilette ,a bidet, a TV, a deep bathtub and a space to incorporate art. Designate an area to house a vanity with 2 sinks, separate from toilette and bathing area. OBJECTIVES Remove existing surrounding walls and closets, incorporated same flooring material throughout adding texture and pattern to blend with each surrounding areas. Use contrasting elements, but control with tone on tone textured materials such as wall tile. Use warm natural materials such as; solid cherry shaker style pocket doors. Enhance architectural details. Plan for custom storage using ergonomics solutions for easy access. Increase storage at entry to house all winter and summer apparel yet leave space for guest belongings. Create a fully organized and functional dressing room. Design the bathroom using a large shower but taking in consideration client’s height differences, incorporate client’s flair for modern technology yet keeping with architectural bones of existing country home design. Create a separate room that fits the desired hotel chic design and add classic contemporary glam without being trendy. DESIGN SOLUTIONS By removing most walls and re-dividing the space to fit the client’s needs, this improves the traffic flow and beautifies the line of sight. A feature wall using rich materials such as white carrara marble basket weave pattern on wall and a practical bench platform made out of Staron-pebble frost, back-lit with a well concealed LED strip light. The glow of two warm white spot lights, highlight the rich marble wall and ties this luxuriant practical element inviting guests to the enticing journey of the on-suite. Incorporate pot-lights in ceiling for general lighting. Add crystal chandeliers as focal point in the vanity area and bathroom to create balance and symmetry within the space. Highlight areas such as wall niches, vanity counter and feature wall sections. Blend architectural elements with a cool white LED strip lighting for decorative-mood accents. Integrate a large seamless shower so as to not overpower the main attraction of the bathroom, insert a shower head tower with adjustable shower heads, The addition of a state of the art electronic bidet seat fitted on to an elongated tall boy toilette. Special features of this bidet include; heated seat, gentle washing ,cleaning and drying functions, which not only looks great but is more functional than your average bidet that takes up too much valuable space. SPECIAL FEATURES The contrasting materials using classic black and white elements and the use of warm tone materials such as natural cherry for the pocket doors is the key element to the space, thus balances the light colors and creates a richness in the area. The feature wall elements with its richness and textures ties in the surrounding spaces and welcomes the individual into the space . The aesthetically pleasing bidet seat is not only practical but comforting as well. The Parisian Philippe Starck Baccarat inspired bathroom has it’s many charms and elegance as well as it’s form and function. Loads of storage neatly concealed in the design space without appearing too dominant yet is the aspect of the success of this design and it’s practicality. This very busy family of five needed a convenient place to drop coats, shoes and bookbags near the active side entrance of their home. Creating a mudroom space was an essential part of a larger renovation project we were hired to design which included a kitchen, family room, butler’s pantry, home office, laundry room, and powder room. These additional spaces, including the new mudroom, did not exist previously and were created from the home’s existing square footage. The location of the mudroom provides convenient access from the entry door and creates a roomy hallway that allows an easy transition between the family room and laundry room. This space also is used to access the back staircase leading to the second floor addition which includes a bedroom, full bath, and a second office. The color pallet features peaceful shades of blue-greys and neutrals accented with textural storage baskets. On one side of the hallway floor-to-ceiling cabinetry provides an abundance of vital closed storage, while the other side features a traditional mudroom design with coat hooks, open cubbies, shoe storage and a long bench. The cubbies above and below the bench were specifically designed to accommodate baskets to make storage accessible and tidy. The stained wood bench seat adds warmth and contrast to the blue-grey paint. The desk area at the end closest to the door provides a charging station for mobile devices and serves as a handy landing spot for mail and keys. Willkommen zuhause! Ein Eingang liefert Gästen und Besuchern einen ersten Eindruck von unserem Einrichtungsstil. Wenn Sie Ihren Hauseingang gestalten, sollten Sie darauf achten, eine freundliche, einladende Atmosphäre zu schaffen – sowohl innen, als auch außen. Clevere Ideen für Stauraum sind im Foyer ebenso gefragt wie dekorative Accessoires. Vom Boden bis zur Beleuchtung, von Pflanzkübeln bis zum Design der Haustür oder des Vordachs gibt es unzählige Möglichkeiten für schöne Hauseingänge. Entdecken Sie inspirierende Bilder, Beispiele und Ideen, wie Sie Eingang und Eingangsbereich gestalten können.

Wie kann ich Eingangsbereich gestalten?

Ob Haus oder Wohnung: Im Eingang befinden sich in der Regel nur wenige Einrichtungsgegenstände. Hier entledigen wir uns unserer Schuhe, verstauen die Jacken im Schrank und schlüpfen in bequeme Hausschuhe. Oft befindet sich in der Nähe vom Hauseingang die Garderobe und damit eine wilde Ansammlung von Sporttaschen, Golfausrüstung und natürlich: Schuhe. Um den Eingang aufgeräumt zu halten, sollten Dinge, die nicht täglich gebraucht werden, in einen Garderobenschrank wandern. Für kleinere Eingangsbereiche bieten sich Wandgarderoben oder ein platzsparender Garderobenständer an. Dekorative Spiegel sind echte Blickfänger und lassen das Foyer optisch größer wirken. Darüber hinaus bieten sie die Möglichkeit, sich vor dem Ausgehen noch einmal zu mustern.

Das Design der Haustür prägt den Eingang

Die Auswahl der Tür ist ein zentrales Element, wenn Sie Ihren Eingang gestalten. Von außen betrachtet ist die Haustür oft das erste, was Besuchern bei einem Haus ins Auge stößt. Ihr Design symbolisiert Offenheit oder den Wunsch nach Privatsphäre ebenso wie Tradition oder Avantgarde. Neben der Eignung als Außentür (mit Eigenschaften wie Wetterbeständigkeit und Sicherheit) sollten Haustüren in puncto Farbe und Materialien mit der Gestaltung von Haus und Fassade harmonieren. Bisweilen zeitigt ein Bruch in der Architektur ungeahnte Effekte – so verleiht die Gestaltung mit einer Drehtür, einer Glastür oder einer Schiebetür dem Eingangsbereich alter Häuser einen neuen Look. Alternativ können Sie Außen- und Innentüren sowie den Bereich um die Tür in einer auffällige Farbe streichen. Eine Doppeltür mit Milchglas hat gegenüber einer kleinen Haustür den Vorteil, dass mehr Licht von außen in den Eingangsbereich dringt – eine gute Idee, falls innen nur wenig Tageslicht vorhanden ist.

Den richtigen Bodenbelag finden

Der Boden im Eingangsbereich ist naturgemäß ganzjährig einer hohen Beanspruchung ausgesetzt. Im Winter und im Herbst kommt die Verschmutzung durch dreckige Schuhe und durchnässte Kleidung hinzu. Als Böden eignen sich daher widerstandsfähige Bodenbeläge, die leicht zu pflegen und reinigen sind. Neben klassischen Bodenfliesen aus Stein sind Linoleum-, Kork- oder PVC-Böden beliebt. Edel, aber nicht ganz preiswert sind hochwertige Parkett- sowie Steinböden aus Marmor. Sie sorgen für ein repräsentatives Aussehen im Entrée. Steinfliesen sind pflegeleichter als Parkett und weniger anfällig für Dielen und Kratzer. Der Vorzug von Parkett oder Dielen besteht darin, eine wohnliche Atmosphäre zu schaffen. Wer bei der Gestaltung des Eingangsbereichs auf Holz nicht verzichten möchte, sollte harte Hölzer als Bodenbelag wählen. Diese halten der Beanspruchung besser stand. Eine günstigere und pflegeleichtere Variante zu edlen Holzböden wie Eiche oder Buche ist Laminat mit Holzoptik.

Welche Möbel gehören in den Eingangsbereich?

Ob repräsentatives Foyer oder ein funktionaler Eingangsbereich – die Größe entscheidet über Ideen für die Einrichtung. Hinter der Eingangstür vieler Altbauwohnungen beginnt unmittelbar der Flur oder Korridor. Hier sollte der unmittelbare Bereich hinter der Tür nicht mit Möbeln überfrachtet werden, was schnell unordentlich wirkt. Durch Einbauschränke oder eine Garderobe in hellem Holz lassen fensterlose Eingangsbereiche heller und freundlicher wirken. Ein Schuhschrank ist ebenso praktisch und kann als Sitzbank dienen. Telefontisch, eine schmale Kommode und Wandregale helfen, kleine Dinge wie Schlüssel oder die Post zu sammeln.

Wie kann ich den Hauseingang freundlich gestalten?

Der Bereich vor der Haustür weckt Neugierde auf die Gestaltung im Inneren. Pflanzkübel oder Topfpflanzen sind als Deko tolle Ideen, um Hauseingänge einladend zu gestalten. Um die Tür vor Witterung zu schützen ist ein Vordach für den Eingang praktisch. So stehen auch Ihre Besucher oder der Postmann nicht im Regen. Eine Beleuchtung des Hauseingangs sieht nicht nur stimmungsvoll aus – sie gibt auch ein Gefühl von Sicherheit und ist praktisch, wenn Sie nachts nach Hause kommen und die Tür öffnen möchten. Auch ein Willkommensschild oder ein Türkranz an der Tür sorgen dafür, dass Gäste und Besucher freundlich empfangen werden.
