This project took Place in Rancho Santa Margarita we converted a traditional back yard into a Beautiful rock garden with a birdbath and paver pad. We used a weed barrier underneath the pebble to ensure we don't have any weeds popping up in between the rocks anytime soon.

A wild, native spirit radiates out from within the structured lines and angles of the hardscape - softened by a lush and biodiverse selection of California native plants in a velvety palette of soft silvery grays, greens, and purples with the occasional pop of yellow and orange. Newly planted native Engelmann Oak and feathery Caesalpinia Sierra Sun trees are grounded by weighty golden boulders. White Cloud muhly grass whispers to the ceanothus and flannel bush, while verbena ‘De la Mina’ nestles amongst the buckwheat and artemisia, perfumed by the earthy smell of the endemic ‘Aroma’ Sage. Birds, butterflies, and other pollinators have found their way to this sumptuous wildlife habitat that we’ve created, and their presence brings a delightful song and serenity to the garden.

Located on Lake Champlain, this landscape installation provided stone steps and landings to give access to the water. It was designed to work within the existing mountain side. Wildflower plantings were used to protect against erosion on the bank. A spa was strategically placed to be hidden from the house but still maintain a beautiful view.

This picture is another example of Xeriscape landscaping and gardening. This photo shows how we used two different types of river rock to add interest and contrast. Curving designs are always a good choice in landscaping. They mimic nature and gently lead the eye along the entire landscape. The brick edging we installed also helps with this visual aspect. The large rocks serve two purposes. Firstly, they create a dramatic impact. Secondly, they give the landscape a three-dimensional quality. This helps to prevent the landscape from appearing ‘flat.’ The plants of varying heights and widths also help to achieve this.

This upward view reveals the steepness of the hillside, giving context to the terracing seen throughout the landscape. The eye follows the gentle rise of plantings, chartreuse and burgundy shrubs paired with flowering perennials, leading toward the swinging bench suspended beneath a mature cedar. The tree’s broad trunk is visible on the left, a quiet presence that speaks to the age and scale of the site. The layered plantings hint at the thoughtful design that transformed this challenging slope into a usable, welcoming garden. What was once difficult to navigate is now a landscape of movement, purpose, and ease.

A dry creek in this forest backyard was the solution to a recurring drainage problem. The dry creek was created with river rock and lined with cedar trees found on the client's property. The edges were planted with native ontario plants including ferns and sedges.

Front yard design in Naples Reserve with modern tropical plants lined with a Mexican beach pebble border. Included larger bromeliads, bird of paradise with multiple blooms, multiple 14' foxtail palms, an agave, red ti, foxtail ferns and mammy crotons. This design is supposed to look full after plants mature.
