Laure Nell Interiors
A fresh beachy palette washes over this permanent residence in Delray Beach that had been newly remodeled once Laure Nell Interiors came on board and needed its interiors to be brought up to par with the exterior. Situated on the water minutes from the ocean, the home called for an elegant coastal look. Its owners—avid boaters with two children and a penchant for entertaining—wanted a soothing coastal palette with high-performing, durable materials and low toxicity across products. We updated the typical coastal look of blues and grays and opted instead for sandy hues and natural elements like sisal a la Palecek and Serena & Lily. We added wall paneling and Schumacher draperies for a light, airy aesthetic, and furnished the foyer, dining room, living room and primary bedroom using pieces from Adriana Hoyos, Made Goods and Bungalow 5. A wide hallway greets you as you enter this oceanside family retreat through the Marvin wooden three-quarters glass entry door with three-quarters glass side lights.
The hallway is lined with nickel gap accent walls, which draw the eye to the staircase and its custom newel post.
The white oak floor and stair treads have a water based stain in a natural matte finish.
Lighting by Connecticut Lighting Centers.

Chevron wall paneling accented by brushed nickel, brass and glass wall sconce. The entry table layered with art, mirror, greenery, blanket basket and more makes for lots of textural visual interest.

Sarah Barnard Design LLC
In this design concept, Sarah Barnard, WELL AP + LEED AP developed two variations of objects, furniture, and artwork for the entryway of a home by the ocean. All of the materials and objects selected for this home project are Vegan. This option features a deep blue dutch door reflecting the color of the sea and a glass window that floods the space with natural light. These blue tones carry through the room in imagery and forms from the natural world, such as the painting of a Blue Heron installed above the sideboard. This option features a collection of contemporary ceramic objects, such as the stylized flush mount ceiling light and the ceramic lamp that resembles the form of a sea urchin. These objects are grounded by the vintage ceramic bowl and planter containing flowers. The sideboard, made from Danish oiled walnut, offers tidy storage options, while the tone of its wood finish harmonizes with the soothing blue of the room to create a welcoming entrance.

A fun patterned cement tile was used to invoke a bright and cheery entry. Custom railings were installed to offer a more open feel. Board and Batten was added to the hallway walls to offer visual interest and texture while maintaining a clean look.

This coastal design is utterly perfect, from the wooden ceiling, to the natural bamboo shades, to the hint of turquoise. This just might be the most welcoming entry design we've ever seen.
