Joe was a great listener and quick to pick up on our style and needs, and in no time he was bringing solutions that we would never have come up with. “I just completed a complete remodel of my San Francisco Edwardian flat and build out my basement. Joanne and her staff did a fantastic job. It started out as a kitchen bath remodel, but once the design process started expanded to include every room as we discussed how different spaces would be used and what I didn't like about the current space after living with it for 20yrs. Might as well do it right! Joanne's attention to detail, listening, and high ethical standards are unmatched. She would listen in the meetings and ask questions then come back with some ideas and sketches to get my reaction. She knew what I wanted without me even knowing it. She was also sensitive to the project budget which was important. I was able to complete the project within my budget. She was also key to working with the general contractor. She brought with her experience in projects of my scope / scale and working with different contractors and even her own remodel. This helped immensely. I look forward to the opportunity to work with Koch Architects again.”

“We used John Lum Architecture for the complete remodel of ~1000 sq ft in San Francisco. John and team were fantastic to work with. Very creative yet good at listening to our thoughts and integrating our ideas. They understand how to both design a gorgeous contemporary space while still keeping it comfortable and livable. We depended on them with a lot of design detail recommendations such as fixtures, paint, tiles and they always had great suggestions that made the process much simpler and easy to manage. They are very professional, extremely responsive and timely. There were no surprises during the entire process including on deadlines and budgets. I would strongly recommend them.”

“Bill Willers and Carol Marcus (Marcus & Willers) have done two projects for us. The first was a huge renovation of an historic building, and the second was small remodel on a vacation home. They are a pleasure to work with - very professional - very thoughtful - and very responsive. Their personal tastes lean towards the modern, yet they were very willing to work on the renovations and very responsive to our tastes. I plan to work with again on a project this year. Highly recommended.”

“My husband and I have worked with Harris & Kasten since the late 1990s. They have done many projects for us, including our lovely home in Atherton. Our home is a combination of Italian and French design. Everything was done to a tee! We could not be more pleased with their knowledge of art, art history, history, architecture, etc. You cannot go wrong with them.”

“My wife and I hired Jim's firm to design and draw our home in Sebastopol. We are extremely happy we went to them. Jim's use of glass and space is incredible. I have been around construction my whole life and have played designer a little on other homes but we are so glad we went to a true professional who has the kind of experience, imagination and vision that Jim has. His price was very reasonable for the quality product that he delivered - way ahead of his proposed schedule we might add! The house went together smoothly exactly as drawn! We would whole-heartedly recommend Jim and his firm - they were a joy to work with all during the process. He gave us great tips and recommendations on interior design too... Tom and Jessica C.”
