Jim Elliot, the owner, suggested a better placement for the bathroom which resulted in a much better bathroom and came in on budget. Additionally, their estimate was the best we received. They were all a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond in everything they did. For additional house projects I will absolutely consult them first.”

“Redline has done several jobs for us to include window sill repair,electrical addition and relocation ,cabinet relocation and plastering. I have also had estimates provided for additional work to include a covered porch and bathrooms renovation. The work will be done by Redline when we can schedule. We have found the owner and his talented team or employees to be very professional in providing a high quality of finished work.When they committed to do the work we found them to be reliable in completion of the job. It is our opinion that this will be an ongoing relationship.”

“Work done: Replaced floors in entire house. Repaired walls and framing and painted entire house. Did demo and helped remove old furniture, then helped return everything. Justin gave appropriate suggestions for repair, replacement, painting, decorating, etc. Justin and his crew, specifically John and Caleb were wonderful to work with. They were respectful and went out of their way to accommodate us. Justin has great knowledge about what needed to be done and spent a lot of time going over everything with us. He found issues we did not know were there and still kept everything within our budget. We had to live in the house while the construction was being done and Halcyon accommodated us every step of the way making sure we were as comfortable as possible. Justin helped us tremendously with decision options and consistently guided us in the good direction. We are still a work in progress and I highly recommend Halcyon.”

“Darwin is a skilled, thoughtful contractor who prioritizes doing the the job right. He put a two room addition with a screen porch on our cabin in July 2015, cedar siding in October, and built a 12x16 cedar shed in March 2016. During the addition build, Darwin expressed concern about potential ice/water issues given the pitch of the new roof we had designed. He drew out alternative plans and offered to do the extra work without charge, because he wanted the final product to be well constructed. It turned out amazing and definitely exceeded expectations. His experience and capability were a huge asset on this project. Additionally, he finished the job ahead of schedule and was just a nice guy about everything. We hired him again last fall to put up new cedar siding, and it turned out beautifully. This March, he built our garage/shed. To our surprise, he hand crafted fantastic cedar herringbone doors for us, because he wanted the project to have a special look to match the cabin. The doors are almost too lovely for an outbuilding, and demonstrate Darwin's outstanding design capability and work ethic. He has consistently gone above and beyond on every job, and his workmanship is phenomenal. We would definitely hire him again and highly recommend him.”

“We interviewed several builders last year when we set out to expand our home at Lake Anna. Before we found Battlefield Homes, we had not found any that met our standards. “We hired Sun Structures to repair our 1920s house after a tree came through our roof. John Donne (the owner) and his two sons were able to repair all the damage and completely renovate our home quickly and professionally. They were easy to talk to, didn't nickel and dime when we asked for changes, hired good subcontractors, and made the overall experience very pleasant and easy. We're so happy with how our house turned out; we even hired them again 6 months later to install our kitchen cabinets and counters.”

We started researching and inquiring about our project a year ago in February, 2015. After checking with several people in that community and searching the Internet for a builder that was reputable; it was obvious that Mr. Duke was a good choice due to his number of years of experience and community involvement. We contacted Mr. Duke and he promptly met us and immediately we felt at ease with his professional approach and his manner of work ethic; especially, taking time to listen to our questions and needs. He assured us that he, along with his professional team of workers would be able to achieve our dream lake house. Everything was performed in a clean and timely manner. We were always contacted when questions arose. His ideas were creative and exciting. His design was exactly what we were looking for in the final product. Everything has been scheduled and completed in a timely manner with "No glitches" except for the weather. “Guy Brannock is an excellent contractor. He is professional, highly experienced with custom construction, and has those rare intangibles: humility, sense of humor, eye for style, and so much more. We hired Guy to build a two story, custom cottage overlooking a large pond on our property. The site was located about 400 feet from our main home in a challenging spot. We did not want a permanent road to the site so Guy's crew had to minimize both the trees that were cut down, hand carry materials to the site when it was too muddy for vehicle access, and remove all signs that they had ever been there after the project was completed. Guy's planning and financial estimates were right on target despite many unique features, including a massive, two story wall of 9 custom-sized windows overlooking the pond, a complicated septic system requirement by the County (the guest home septic system had to be linked to the main home's drain field, which was uphill from the construction site), and a 2+ story custom stone fireplace. The schedule was very close to what he estimated as well (despite numerous, unpredictable winter weather delays, having to hand carry materials some weeks, and various other surprises that occur during custom construction). Guy handled everything with ease and kept us informed every step of the way. Guy scheduled many small inspections with the County throughout the project to ensure there were no issues at the end. Guy was open and honest about everything, involved us in every decision, and we enjoyed working with him. He keeps a detailed spreadsheet of every item, cost, and adjustment so everyone is on the same page at all times. We'll use Guy for every future construction project we envision for our property. He has the experience, personality, management skills, financial resources, network of subcontractors, intelligence, integrity, and passion that is so hard to find all in one contractor. We highly recommend Guy Brannock and are grateful to know him!”
