“Completely renovated our log cabin. They came in and demo'd it. Removing the drop down ceiling, making the whole log cabin 1 big gathering room (the lodge) with cathedral ceiling. They moved the stairs leading to unfinished basement (now finished), replaced all the windows in the log cabin, new ash flooring, new kitchen cupboards,added kitchen island, and countertops, notched out logs to fit new appliances. Also finished basement with new bedroom, laundry room, family room, bathroom and my favorite, "a craft room" from what used to be a "cluttered hall". Also added slider walk out door to patio area and outside shower.

“Ours is primarily a DIY project – a timber-framed, strawbale-wrapped house with external stud walls containing dense-packed cellulose insulation and (eventually) clapboard siding. We greatly benefited from consulting with New Frameworks Natural Design Build starting early in our design/planning process. Co-owner Jacob Deva Racussin, is very knowledgeable, thorough, friendly and outstanding teacher, who met with us several times and provided very useful feedback and suggestions, as well as instructions and sources for specialized construction supplies. He visited our project site several times, and taught us (and friends) how to shape and build with the bales. We also hired a New Frameworks crew, including co-owner Ace McArleton, to apply the base coat of plaster on the interior straw-bale walls. They were wonderful - very hardworking, plus enjoyable to work with! We very much appreciate everyone’s flexibility in working with us through our long, complicated and somewhat chaotic process. We think the world of all the New Frameworks Natural Design Build people and highly recommend them!”

“Red House was our GC for an eight month gut renovation of an 1840's farmhouse. They were fantastic to work with from the first call to their office thru the finishing touches just after we moved in. They provided ideas and consulted throughout the design process, sharing options for needed products, vendor and retail suggestions. As some items inevitably changed during construction they were understanding and willing to adjust. They ran a very neat construction site and kept the project on time. Chris Quinn oversaw the project from a business/planning perspective, David Matesi was point person on site (and a talented blacksmith!) and worked with Dave, Nate & Arna - a great team all around.”

“I consulted with Jenny when looking for a vacation home to renovate in Lake Placid NY.. Jenny coordinated time to view the property with my real estate agent Jonathan Gorgas. Her professionalism , interior designs ,dedication and her enthusiasm was appreciated. Jenny"s project photos were in line with my ideal cabin like vision. I did not buy this home. sadly. The next listing needed moderate amount of renovation. Jenny and Cliff, her contractor, walked thru the new listing providing ideas. The walk thru inspection showed it would take too much money to bring the house up to code. Jenny suggested I buy a cabin built by Haas Habitats LLC. The idea was intriguing to me. Her website shows cabin photos that are modern yet cozy. I gave her my budget and she provided a cabin size. The caveat was to find land in the area we could afford. I tried to find land in the area to fit my budget but could not . I decided to stay in Bucks County PA but I will always remember her dedication to helping me find my forever home.”

Finally getting near the end of my North Carolina house build and I just wanted to thank Jim and his Vermont team for building a great product. The quality and fit of the Frame and SIP panels was key in the success of this project. Everyone at Vermont Frames was courteous and very helpful. Jim, Chris and everyone else there never got tired of answering all my questions. I researched a lot of Timber Framers closer to me and VF offered the most comprehensive solution with the least amount of unnecessary drama. I hired one of Jim’s Field Technicians (Jake) to lead my local framers and in four days the frame was up. Jake was one of the hardest workers I had on the job site. He took charge of the raising from the first minute he was there. The precut SIP’s took another week and were easily installed without the need for Jake. So thanks to Vermont Frames for helping my wife and I survive this ambitious dream that started on a mountain top several years ago.
