“Luke Stensland (H1 Construction) & Ryan Fujita (Fujita & Netski Architecture) commenced planning and construction of a total remodel of my 2 bedroom Yacht Harbor Towers condo in February 2014. After initial discussions of the design concept, Ryan drew detailed drawings of the project suitable for town planning approval while Luke applied for the necessary permits and go ahead from Yacht Harbor Towers HOA. Luke was able to work with the challenges of dealing with the HOA and of a project in a down town high rise. The remodel included complete re-wiring, re- plumbing, hardwood flooring, custom cabinetry and painting throughout. In addition all new appliances were installed. As I live in Southern California, trust and communication were particularly important during the project. As with any large project unexpected situations arise and Luke put forward ideas to achieve the best final result. There were many decisions to be made during the construction and decorating fazes and Ryan was invaluable in keeping design consistency. The final results of the extensive custom cabinetry and feature tile work exceeded my expectations and gave the condo the “wow" factor I was looking for. Finding the right team and good fit can be challenging in Hawaii, Luke and Ryan are a young professional team who work well together and made the project an enjoyable experience. I would definitely work with them again.”

“Mali Bella competed our lanai addition. They did full service permits and build out using Trex and wood rails. We also added a hot tub and needed to properly engineer the weight load. They not only managed the whole project, but made suggestions to improve the design for a better end-use. The pricing was right on target with other bids, but because Joe Megill was able to make creative suggestions to make the end-use better, I feel like we really got our money's worth. I would add that our timeline was pushed back, but in this market it's tough to have projects come in right on time. As a Realtor, I've also recommended Mali Bella to my clients. “I know how stressful it is finding and contractor, so I wanted to share my experience with others so that they can make a more informed decision. When we decided to tear down and rebuild our home in Kaimuki, we met with five contractors. All of them had great ideas but each were different in their approach – some more pushy, a few seemed too busy or apathetic, and only one was real down to earth and made us feel like they had our best interest at heart – Atlas. For example, the Project Manager (Nathan) was very concerned about keeping us within our budget so that our mortgage payments would be manageable as opposed to building a house that would maximize the contract price (it seemed that way with some of the other contractors). What also really impressed us were all the complimentary comments that were made by their clients during our site visit to other projects that were in progress or competed. Their vendors and subs thought very highly of them too! They accommodated every request we had, allowed us to build the home we wanted (not according to their specifications), and were transparent about the process, costs (no mysterious change orders or nickel and diming), and timeline. They treated our Project as if it were their own and provided us recommendations during the design AND BUILD process. To those looking for someone to build their dream home, my recommendation would be the same: Find someone you feel comfortable with because there are so many decisions to be made from beginning to end and you want a partner that you can trust that will help guide you and also be fair with you when the inevitable obstacles occur (which it will). We love the home they built for us two years ago and are glad we picked a contractor that was a pleasure to work with. Atlas built our home and a lasting relationship with my family as well. To this day, if I ever need any assistance or advice for my home (solar, new fence, leaking washer), I can pick-up the phone and call Bruce (the owner) and he sends someone right away to kokua.”
