“When we hired David Lund to design our kitchen, new bathroom and new mudroom, we weren't sure what to expect. We had never undertaken such a large remodeling project before and we were overwhelmed with getting the layout exactly right and incorporating all the "little extras" we wanted in our dream kitchen. David took a pile of tear sheets that we'd saved, listened intently to our desires and concerns, and came back with plans that were so complete that even our contractor commented they were the best plans he'd ever worked with. What's more, David's suggestions for design picks completely changed the way we think about making choices for our home. He opened our eyes to options (hello, green penny tile!) that we would have never considered, and made us become better home decorators. He also retained the integrity of our nearly 100-year-old home by making countless choices that are consistent with its design period. When the project was complete it was not only exactly what we wanted, but was also filled with details we didn't know we wanted until he put them into place. We have a lot of envious friends.”

“I hired Hart's Design to design an addition to my home in Edina. This included a garage, workshop, master bath, roof deck, laundry/mudroom expansion. sunroom, and kitchen expansion. Admittedly, I am a very particular/difficult client. Generally, I am not satisfied with anyone I hire and usually consider it successful if the interaction does not end in the exchange of profanity. I know this about myself and tell people this prior to working with them. I have never offered to serve as a reference for any contractor or designer in the past.
Robert was excellent. He took our ideas, added his expertise and brought it to life. He was responsive and timely and the rates were very reasonable. He delivered exactly what he said he would. I particularly liked that I could work with him to create a design/blueprints that we liked. I was then able to take these detailed plans and get bids from a number of contractors rather than being tied to a single design/build firm. This was some of the best money we spent on our addition.
I would recommend Hart's Design without reservation.”

We hired them to help us figure out how to slowly renovate our 100 year old home, and they helped us identify what was important to us, develop a mission statement for how we approach renovations, and then they collaborated with a team of contractors and vendors to put together a comprehensive book describing our home, its current condition, what needs repairs, and how much those repairs would cost. They also included several options for the areas that we are interested in remodeling down the road. We have also used them to pick out and install window treatments that respect the heritage of the house. They are certainly not the cheapest option out there, but they cannot be beat in terms of excellence and expertise!”
