“I was unexpectedly faced with a significant construction project as a result of wear and tear and water damage. the entire front porchway and second floor deck as well as a retaining wall needed immediate work. I contacted Mr. LaPuma who came out and assessed the situation. He gave me a true estimate that was financially competitive and accurate as to time. “I live in New Jersey and have a few properties in Massachusetts. I needed work done on two of my properties. I normally send my team of guys up there when work or repairs are needed but this time I couldn't because of poor timing. I spoke to a handful of contractors over the phone. “I own a 1910 colonial. It has many quirky and regular issues. Rocky, the owner of Empire Home Improvement, is a very knowledgeable, kind, caring, and efficient craftsman. He provides excellent service and workmanship. His crew have done various projects, new plaster ceiling, replacement of original outdoor overhangs and a new door. All projects were completed efficiently and with expert craftsmanship.”

“Fresh Start was excellent to work with from start to finish. They ordered a gorgeous reclaimed Heart Pine floor in our #1 Quartersawn grade for a high-end renovation job in Harvard Square. The job was well-organized and the schedule was budgeted appropriately to allow for flooring acclimation and installation times. Jobsite was neat and orderly and delivery was organized/executed well, despite the extremely narrow side street and tight driveways of the neighborhood. From start to finish, Fresh Start was easy to work with. They knew how to plan for and work with a high-end finish product and treated it and us with respect. Our experience working with them to patch historic white pine and Heart Pine floors in the area has been similar. We recommend their work to clients in the Boston area.”

“Andrey changed my ugly back yard into a beautiful deck and fence. I looked far and wide for a contractor to do this work. I had one other contractor look at the job but they were not willing to work with me to get the job done. Andrey listened to my ideas about how I wanted it built, and he worked with me to make it happen. I am in Boston so getting the permits to start the job was a huge effort. Andrey was great working with the city to get the permits. I am very happy with the way the project turned out.”

“Justin restored an old staircase that had been destroyed by a previous owner when the house was subdivided into multiple units. We were restoring the house back to its original form. The required steel reinforcement of the staircase, a carver recreating the destroyed curved railing, and workworkers turning new balusters. It all went well and the staircase came out great!”
