“Charlene is an absolute dream to work with. After moving into a 2 BR condo in New York, I needed someone who could highlight the best qualities of the space and create a vibe that was both chic and cozy at the same time. I had a few ideas stylistically about what I wanted, but Charlene crystallized the vision and brought it to life in a way that I never could have envisioned. The priorities for the project were the kitchen, living room, and the main bedroom. At our first design consultation, we discussed fabrics, finishes, and color palette, taking into consideration not just how the pieces and textures would look together but also how each room would feel when you walked into it. What I appreciated most about the process is Charlene's ability to merge her eye for design with creating a space that was totally personal and also functional. I had a few vintage pieces with sentimental value that I wanted to incorporate, and we found a way to feature them among the more modern design elements. It was also important to me to include some items that were locally-sourced, and Charlene was able to find some really special ceramic pieces and lighting through her relationships with artisans in the Brooklyn area. She even found a local female-owned and operated painting company to do the limewash in the bedroom. How cool is that?? I am so thankful to have worked with Charlene on this project. She made the entire process seamless and fun, and no detail went unconsidered. The final space is beautiful and leaves me feeling relaxed and reenergized every time I walk in the door. I could not have asked for a better partner on this project.”

“Jen of JKate Designs recently decorated our income property in Ortley Beach, NJ. She selected paint colors, furniture, accessories and created layouts. She was easy to work with and talk to about likes and dislikes. She worked within our budget and the entire process was smooth. This house was an interesting challenge, as she had to work around some existing decor/furniture, that maybe we both would not normally have selected on our own, but it came with the house and we did not want to get rid of it all. She selected items/colors so that together, the "old" and new have created a beautiful, timeless look.The outcome is stunning and we could not be happier! The property has been listed for rent for about 2 weeks and we already have 5 summer weeks rented. we are convinced it's the decor and could not have done it without her. The entire Julians team is professional, highly knowledgable and very creative. They have always met my deadlines and budgets and work well with all subcontractors. In fact I would say you should hire Julians before you are ready to decorate. On multiple projects of mine, Julians has worked with the main contractor/architect to make changes to plans and projects that made significant improvements to the overall design and function of the spaces. On one specific project in a guest house, I wanted to move a wall to make the room bigger. I was told that that wall couldn't be moved by the contractor. I brought in Julians to work with the contractor and Julie herself was able to explain to the contractor how to move the wall and solve the design problems this would create. The end result looked amazing. Julie is able to work with the most ornery contractor to make changes that improve the design and convince him that he made a good decision! She is magic! The money you spend hiring the professionals at Julians is worth every cent. There is so much creative energy that is spent on every design that you will be amazed how much attention you get. Julians is now decorating my third home. I would never use any other designer. My homes are completely different: New England center-hall colonial, 250 year-old farmhouse with separate buildings and a beach house on the water. The designs are completely different and all amazing. Projects Julians has done for me range from simple kitchen, bathroom and room updates, to complete kitchen rip out and redesign and gutting a 200 year-old cottage and rebuilding/redesigning it with only the original beams and fireplace standing. My only advice is TRUST Julie's design decisions. You will not be disappointed. If she says it will good great and is the right thing to do, it will look AMAZING and you will LOVE it.”
