Here we have a contemporary residence we designed in the Bellevue area. Some areas we hope you give attention to; floating vanities in the bathrooms along with flat panel cabinets, dark hardwood beams (giving you a loft feel) outdoor fireplace encased in cultured stone and an open tread stair system with a wrought iron detail.

Designed and built as a remodel on Liberty Lake, WA waterfront with a neighboring house encroaching upon the south property line, a roadway on the east and park access along the north façade, the structure nestles on a underground river. As both avid environmentalists and world travelers this house was conceived to be both a tribute to pragmatics of an efficient home and an eclectic empty nesters paradise. The dwelling combines the functions of a library, music room, space for children, future grandchildren and year round out door access. The 180 degree pergola and sunscreens extend from the eaves providing passive solar control and utilizing the original house’s footprint. The retaining walls helped to minimize the overall project’s environmental impact.

A remarkable Architect/Builder selected us to help design, build and install his geometric/contemporary four-level staircase; definitively not a “cookie-cutter” stair design, capable to blend/accompany very well the geometric forms of the custom millwork found throughout the home, and the spectacular chef’s kitchen/adjoining light filled family room. Since the architect’s goal was to allow plenty of natural light in at all times (staircase is located next to wall of windows), the stairs feature solid 2” oak treads with 4” nose extensions, absence of risers, and beautifully finished poplar stringers. The horizontal cable balustrade system flows dramatically from the lower level rec room to the magnificent view offered by the fourth level roof top deck. CSC © 1976-2020 Century Stair Company. Salvaged glulam beams reflect a visible beauty with a hidden strength. A play on refined and rustic was used to bring a character and history to a new modern, fresh and clean palate. Glulam beams are already a very sustainable material because it uses smaller pieces of dimensional lumber to make a larger beam but because we were able to salvage this from a local warehouse we were able to take it a step further on these staircase steps.
