“Michael is a gifted artisan. Our dining chairs, from my wife's grandmother, had once featured immensely intricate woodworking on their backs--tiny pieces of mahogany crisscrossing and curving every which way, with an unusual finish. Over the decades, despite the obvious high quality of the craftsmanship in their original construction, these backs had slowly been destroyed by generations of children hanging on them, bashing them with bats, etc. We showed Michael a picture of one of the intact chairs, and handed him our three broken chairs, along with a bag of some of the little pieces of wood that had fallen off over the years. The wood we provided was clearly insufficient to bring the chairs back to their proper state. Michael managed to re-create these elaborate backs, seamlessly working in reproduction pieces of wood he somehow fashioned in his workshop. Michael matched the finish and design from the original so well that I cannot tell the difference between the reproduction and original portions of my chairs. Several years on, they’re still in perfect condition. He’s also done some similarly impressive work on badly damaged fine antique furniture for my father-in-law.
His pricing isn’t cheap, but you’re paying for old world quality craftsmanship. If you have fine antique furniture in need of repair and appreciate finely done work, it’s worth it to have the work done properly.

I slightly modified one of the beds on his website all via email and phone and I am confident there is not impossible job. The beds are sublime.
