“Chris Shannon, owner of First Choice Finishes, was recommended to me by a couple of other subcontractors. I liked him immediately when I met him, so much so that I didn't even put the job out for other bids. He was on time, every time, kept in constant communication when I had questions and was patient and flexible when I had to reschedule him twice. He's been doing this work for 17 years, starting right out of high school, and I found out he does quite a bit more than just tile. My subway tile project was a small one and he fit me in between his bigger jobs, but even so, he made me feel like i was a big job priority. Subway tile is more difficult than one would think because there are many options. (It was actually harder for me than choosing the quartz counter!) But Chris was patient and helped me make decisions when I was frustrated trying to figure out the the size subway tile - one that included a matching bullnose, and the color and size of the grout, plus how the edge lines up with the cabinets and counter. (One thing that helped me was I cut out paper tiles in different sizes and taped and lined them up on the wall to see which size I liked this best.) In the end I went with Daltile 4x8 (Modern Dimensions) and the Silverado grout as recommended by Chris. I could not be happier with my decision and the work First Choice did installing them. He and his employee Paul worked fast and easily in concert with one another and were very meticulous. A nice touch was when i returned from running errands at the end of the job and found them cleaning up after themselves, hosing down the driveway and wiping up my kitchen counters and floor. If you are remodeling and live in Washington State, hire Chris Shannon First Choice Finishers! I cannot say enough good things!”

“The people who worked with us listened, but may have communicated a bit more with phone calls to follow up on how the people were doing for us. Once the project was completed, we would like to have had a phone call just to talk about the project. The suggestion of Doors Unlimited was the best ever for quality of product and a family owned business with excellent customer service. EuroCraft painting did a very good job; quality of work all under the umbrella of Dickey construction. We will ask Dickeys on our bathroom remodel soon.”

“Rob Yrineo remodeled our bathroom. We had him remove a wall to open it up. He had plumbing and electrical work done, and there were no issues there. There were two different ceiling heights after we removed the wall, and we couldn't raise the ceiling because of the duct work and electrical. We wanted a smooth transition from one height to the next so that we didn't have to lower the whole ceiling. It was a really awkward space, and he came up with a design that looked like it was meant to be built that way. He helped us along the way by offering multiple suggestions to choose from for different situations and helped us envision different scenarios. He kept us apprised of anything that came up along the way (such as the need to shift the niches in our shower due to plumbing positioning behind the wall). If there was something I didn't understand, he was really good at explaining it. He was on such a role, we asked him to upgrade our closet too. The way he did the layout in our tight space was so efficient that it relieved us from having to buy another dresser. We actually have extra shelves. It was such a relief to have him do our job because he went with the flow if design changes needed to be made, and he always offered great professional advice and expertise. That was key given this was my first major remodel.”
