Customizing your Space
An antique clock can add such personality to your room, something as simple and distressed can add the at home feel to your bedroom. It doesn't have to work either. In my living room there is a beautiful antique clock that is hanging above our mantel. It's a light yellow cream color with curved and spiraled edges. This is something you can have fun with. Color plays a huge part in your bedroom. Personally, I love a clean look but this clock can add that pop needed to ad a sense of lived in.
An elegant piece of art that pulls your eye in, can really add a softness or crisp look to your room, all depending on what piece you use and how it pairs with your necessities. I believe light is soft and dark is strong. The midtones in this piece and contrast between light and dark are easy to pair with any decor. I would play off the white in the painting. Fun DIY, go as simple as you'd like or pair with gold accents to make it as elegant as you want. Fun fun, I found this piece at Pier1 for 199.99 but take a moment with your little ones, stencil out a bird onto canvas, or multiple birds for each member of your family and layer paint with sponges. Start with light and pull towards dark towards one corner and down. After the third layer play with the gold and then move towards the darker mixed colors... Finish with black, a little detail and tada. A work of art that is filled with memories all for less than thirty dollars.
You can also make your own. by Painting one on a wall with address numbers as the hours on the clock or address numbers.
