Backyard/Pool
UPDATE: I've added a lot of new pics of flagstone use around pool area and lagoon style pools. New theme: LAGOON pool surrounded with Hill country limestone or sandstone flagstones and coping and water features.
The landscaping of the new backyard lends itself to more of a free form or lagoon style pool. I'd like to integrate as much of the existing landscaping as possible. I like layers and/or levels. I do like the contrast of light colored surround and coping with a darker plaster in pool. Must haves: salt water, integrated fire pit, waterfall with light colored stones (?) and jumping rocks, tanning ledge or beach entry, dark colored gunnite (either blue or green), light-colored coping, lighting in pool and landscaping.
New consideration: what if we put stepping stones across the pool separating the hot tub area from the rest of the pool? I've got power lines that run across the back of the property and I'm thinking of ways to block the view. So I'm thinking of a trellis area on the opposite side of the pool that would block the view from the pool to the power lines. Stepping stones across would add a really distinct feature to the "lagoon" - thus making the yard more accessible and like a huge outdoor room.
Your professional advice on artificial turf around flagstones, since we'll be using salt water. I've found these sources: http://www.easyturf.com/product-locator/ or http://syntheticgrasspros.com Is this a bad idea? I'm just wondering about the effect of salt water on the grass around the flagstones.
Other: http://www.larryscaprockandstone.com I'm willing to go find some big slab rocks locally to get the right lightness of color.
